Update – The film has been re-titled “Father Figures”.
Ed Helms and Owen Wilson have been spotted on the set of Bastards, the upcoming comedy movie directed by Lawrence Sher based on a script by Justin Malen:
(Click on the picture to enlarge.)
Plot synopsis:
“The story centers on fraternal twin brothers who find out that their mothers been lying to them for years about their allegedly deceased father and set out to find their real dad.”
So are they supposed to play twin brothers with the same father or with different fathers? It’s rare for twins to have different fathers, but yep it can and has happened. It could explain why Ed Helms and Owen Wilson don’t look alike, lol.
The release date of Bastards is set to November 4, 2016.

Here’s a first official look at White Girl, the upcoming drama movie written and directed by Elizabeth Wood and starring Morgan Saylor, Brian Sene Marc, Justin Bartha, Chris Noth, India Menuez, and Adrian Martinez:
(Click on the picture to enlarge.)
Plot synopsis:
“A college student goes to extremes to get her drug dealer boyfriend out of jail.
The cross section between New York’s mean streets and its gentrified alcoves makes for potent social satire in Elizabeth Wood’s tough and exhilarating debut. Equipped with platinum blonde hair and a winning smile, college girl Leah (Morgan Saylor) seeks out pleasure in any form. She has two weeks before fall semester, and in between getting high with her roommate and snorting lines with her boss, she finds time to hit it off with a handsome, young Puerto Rican drug dealer named Blue. Within days, the two are selling dime bags to her affluent white colleagues, collecting fast cash, and living the high life. But their euphoria comes to a grinding halt once Blue is arrested and Leah’s left with a hefty amount of his coke. Does she sell it to save him or use it herself?”
I heard love can literally drive you crazy… That said, I really don’t understand why one would date a drug dealer in the first place… Well maybe it was love at first sight here…
Check out the awesome science-fiction short film “Envoy” directed by David Weinstein:
ENVOY
Plot:
“A science fiction, action adventure, short film to be used as a proof of concept for a larger full-length feature film story. A young boy discovers a deadly alien creature and winds up entangled in a top secret government operation.”
The alien looks like the bastard child of a predator and a protoss (from the video game Starcraft). Awesome!
Anyway, let’s hope David Weinstein will get to develop a full-length movie based on this story. Continue reading »
The Photoshop artist behind the UK and Dutch posters of Joy, the upcoming drama comedy biography movie directed by David O. Russell, was a bit heavy with his brush:
(Click on a poster to enlarge.)
Plot synopsis:
“The wild story of a family across four generations centered on the girl who becomes the woman who founds a business dynasty and becomes a matriarch in her own right. Betrayal, treachery, the loss of innocence and the scars of love, pave the road in this intense emotional and human comedy about becoming a true boss of family and enterprise facing a world of unforgiving commerce. Allies become adversaries and adversaries become allies, both inside and outside the family, as Joy’s inner life and fierce imagination carry her through the storm she faces.”
Jennifer Lawrence’s face on this poster reminds me of a shop dummy!
