Hacksaw Ridge Movie

Here’s a first official look at Actor Andrew Garfield in Hacksaw Ridge, the upcoming biography drama movie directed by Mel Gibson:

HACKSAW RIDGE

Plot:
“WWII American Army Medic Desmond T. Doss (Andrew Garfield), who served during the Battle of Okinawa, refuses to kill people and becomes the first Conscientious Objector in American history to win the Congressional Medal of Honor.”

From Wikipedia we may learn more about Desmond Doss:

DossDesmondT_USArmyDrafted in April 1942, Desmond Doss refused to kill or carry a weapon into combat because of his personal beliefs as a Seventh-day Adventist. He consequently became a medic, and while serving in the Pacific theatre of World War II he helped his country by saving the lives of his comrades, at the same time adhering to his religious convictions.

And here’s an interesting video via youtube:

Desmond Doss, Medal of Honor, WWII
Army medic Desmond Doss single-handedly brought 75 wounded troops to safety while under constant fire on Okinawa on May 5, 1945. President Truman awarded him the Medal of Honor on October 12, 1945.

Besides Andrew Garfield, the cast also includes Vince Vaughn, Sam Worthington, Luke Bracey, Teresa Palmer, and Rachel Griffiths.

There’s no official release date yet, but the film should be released sometime in 2016.

Hotel Transylvania 3 Movie

The movie Hotel Transylvania 2 has been released in theaters and is performing quite well. So there’s no wonder that Sony Pictures Animation is planning another sequel. Unfortunately Director Genndy Tartakovsky who helmed the first two movies won’t return to direct Hotel Transylvania 3… he indeed said that he’d rather tackle a new project:

“Hotel Transylvania 3 is going to happen without me. Two is enough. I have a lot of other ideas, and I kind of have to express them and have them come out.”
