Strange Magic Movie

Here’s a first official picture from “Strange Magic”, the upcoming animated film by Lucasfilm (the studios behind Star Wars, it was bought by Disney in 2012):

Plot:
“Strange Magic is said to be a musical fairy tale inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. It will feature popular songs from the last 60 years . We may expect a cast of goblins, elves, fairies and imps who are all trying to get hold of a magic potion.”

Can’t say am impressed with this picture… The CG doesn’t look that great… But too early to tell. The trailer will give us a better idea of what to expect from LucasFilm new property!

The film is directed by Gary Rydstrom based on a script he co-wrote with David Berenbaum (Elf) and Irene Mecchi. The voice cast includes Alan Cumming, Evan Rachel Wood, Kristin Chenoweth, Maya Rudolph, Sam Palladio, Meredeth Anne Bull, Alfred Molina, Elijah Kelley, Bob Einstein, and Peter Stormare.

The release date of Strange Magic is set to January 23, 2015.
