Stargate Atlantis Enemy At the Gate

Todd the Wraith in Stargate atlantis

Thanks to IO9 We have an official description of Enemy at the gate, the final episode of Stargate Atlantis Season 5:

Stargate Atlantis Episode Guide

SGA S5xE20 Enemy at the Gate

Todd contacts Atlantis and reveals that a Wraith subordinate has managed to acquire several Zero Point Modules that he has used to power a formidable new hive ship. He urges Woolsey to attack and destroy before it becomes a threat to Atlantis.

On board the Daedalus, Colonel Caldwell, Colonel Sheppard and the rest of the team, rush to engage the new hive ship. But the Z.P.M. powered vessel proves itself an impressive opponent, crippling the Daedalus before making a sudden and inexplicable jump into hyperspace.

Puzzled over the Wraith’s sudden departure, the team picks up a weak subspace signal in Wraith code. McKay is quick to recognize that the communique was sent, through subspace, from another reality. Once deciphered, their worst fears are realized. The Wraith message contains a familiar set of coordinates. The hive ship is on its way to Earth!

And here what was said about this final Stargate Atlantis episode in the past:

This milestone episode will not be a comedy episode, but the producers have “something big in mind”. This milestone episode is also the final episode of Stargate Atlantis and will not end on a cliffhanger. It will not be a comedy episode, but “much of the cast will wear funny hats” It will be shot in the 19th slot.

I really hope it doesn’t end on a cliffhanger: I’d be pissed off if I had to wait the future Stargate Atlantis movie…

Seen it, and for a final it is very weak. They could have done much more and expanded the potential of Atlantis, either through the introduction of the Alternate Reality aliens that were whopping Atlantis in “The Daedalus Variations”, (ie) Atlantis + Wraith + Travellers against the Alternate Reality Aliens, where we lose and they gain a foothold, and set that up. Or, the Asgard return but with technology acquired from their home galaxy, and with clones of the original Asgard in tow, as they revived them using their technology, ask us to join with them against the wraith. As the battle heats up the Alternate Reality Aliens attack and we are all in against it. So much potential, and they squandered it.

I think people have watch SG1 for so long they don’t even know what they are watching.

My personal opinion is that SG1 is not all that it’s cracked up to be the amount of time I have watch each one of them, it just seems like they don’t know where to go it’s all the same story line there is no excitement to it and if people watch boring stuff like that for a period of time they must not have excitement in what they are watching.

Stargate Atlantis was a different story line each week and it all ways had me on the edge of my seats the characters are actually better than the characters in SG1. I have loved Stargate Atlantis each week looking forward to the next one, it’s a shame they are not continuing with season 6! If it a case of someone showing their films speak to sky one!

It would be the worse thing to shut down Stargate Atlantis!

I can’t believe that was it. It was a so so episode at best. No way to end a series.
