THE FREE STATE OF JONES

Plot:
“After surviving the Battle of Corinth in 1863, Newton Knight, a poor farmer from Mississippi, lead a group of anti-slavery Confederate deserters in Jones County, and turns them against the Confederacy during the Civil War. Later Knight marries a former slave, Rachel, which significantly helps in establishing the region’s first mixed-race community.”

Here’s a first official look at Actor Eddie Redmayne as Lili Elbe, a transgender woman and one of the first identifiable recipients of sex reassignment surgery (in 1930):

Well Eddie Redmayne does look the part, but he was typecast: he’s no bulky actor and it’s easier to make him look like a woman. It would have been a bit more difficult with Sylvester Stallone or Dolph Lundgren.
