Here’s a first look at Mark Wahlberg in the movie Contraband, a remake of the Icelandic thriller Reykjavik-Rotterdam:

Plot:

The film is directed by Baltasar Kormakur and is starring Kate Beckinsale, Ben Foster, Giovanni Ribisi, and Caleb Landry. The release date of Contraband is set for March 16, 2012.

The Bridesmaids movie is starring Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ellie Kemper, Melissa McCarthy, Chris O’Dowd, Matt Lucas, Jill Clayburgh, Rebel Wilson, and Michael Hitchcock. It will be released in theaters on May 13, 2011.

Zack Snyder has found a lead actor for the upcoming Superman movie. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s a Brit. British Actor Henry Cavill (Stardust, The Tudors, Immortals) will indeed don Superman’s cape. Here’s an artist’s rendering (I used photoshop, makes me an artist, right?) of Henry Cavill as the man of steel:

Director James Cameron must have a real fascination for diving. He not only spent his 56th birthday in a Russian deep sea submersible to reach the bottom of Lake Baikal in Siberia, the deepest freshwater lake in the world, but also intends to explore the Mariana Trench, the deepest point of the oceans (10.9km down in the western Pacific), as part of his research for a sequel to Avatar. Twelve men have been to the moon but only two have been to the bottom of the oceans – James Cameron wants to be third. He’s commissioned a special submersible to get there. And from what I heard it will be fitted with 3D cameras. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the footage he is going bring back from the Mariana Tench ends up in Avatar 2.

The plan is to release Avatar 2 on December 14, 2014 and Avatar 3 a year later on December 15, 2015:

“I am in the process of writing the next two Avatar films now. We are planning to shoot them together and post them together, and we will probably release them not quite back to back, but about a year apart. Christmas 14 and 15 is the current plan.
[…]
Basically, if you survived the first film, you get to be in the second film, at least in some form…”
