This new featurette for Spike Lee’s upcoming remake of Oldboy will give you a better understanding of what to expect from the film:
OldBoy – What’s the story?
“Oldboy is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of Joe Doucette (Josh Brolin), a man who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement, for no apparent reason. When he is suddenly released without explanation, he begins an obsessive mission to find out who imprisoned him, only to discover that the real mystery is why he was set free.”
Are you impatient to see Spike Lee’s version? Or do you think Chan-wook Park’s version is the only one worth seeing?
The film will hit theaters on November 27,2 013.
:)
The remake seems like a light version of what it should be. Although, I think Josh Brolin is a good actor, I don’t think he makes a good ‘Oldboy’. Daniel Day-Lewis or Gary Oldman would have worked better.
