Hands of Stone Movie

Thanks to IMDb, here’s a first official picture from Hands of Stone, the upcoming boxing drama biography movie written and directed by Jonathan Jakubowicz and starring Robert De Niro, Edgar Ramirez, Usher, Ellen Barkin, John Turturro, Oscar Jaenada, Ruben Blades, and Ana de Armas:

Plot:
“A legendary boxer Roberto Durán (Edgar Ramirez) and his equally legendary trainer Ray Arcel (Robert De Niro) change each other’s lives.”

From left to right, you may recognize Edgar Ramirez, Robert De Niro, and Ruben Blades.

Robert De Niro discusses his upcoming movie “Hands of Stone,” which also stars Edgar Ramirez as boxer Roberto Duran and pop star Usher as Sugar Ray Leonard.

The film has yet to get an official release date. It should theaters sometime in 2016.

    This guy portraying the legendary champion Roberto Durán, does not even look like a boxer. Durán was a tough Panamanian , I believe, born in Guararé whose dad was mexican descent. Edgar Ramírez looks more like a “disco guy” who works out.

    Where the hell is Freddy Brown mentioned for this movie? He played a huge part in Duran’s career along with Arcel.

    Wow… such a terrific subject some good actors Blades and De Niro, and it appears to be a bust…directors and editors make or break…sad Duran didn’t get the movie he deserved
