Ain’t Them Bodies Saints Movie Trailer

Let’s watch the first official movie trailer of Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, the upcoming drama movie written and directed by David Lowery:

AIN’T THEM BODIES SAINTS
Plot:
“Bob Muldoon (Casey Affleck) and Ruth Guthrie (Rooney Mara), an impassioned young outlaw couple on an extended crime spree, are finally apprehended by lawmen after a shootout in the Texas hills. Although Ruth wounds a local officer, Bob takes the blame. But four years later, Bob escapes from prison and sets out to find Ruth and their daughter, born during his incarceration. Set against the backdrop of 1970′ s Texas Hill Country, director David Lowery paints a poetic picture, evoking the mythology of westerns and saturating the dramatic space with an aching sense of loss. Featuring powerful performances by Affleck, Mara as well as Ben Foster and Keith Carradine, AIN’ T THEM BODIES SAINTS is a story of love, motherhood and searching for peace while faced with an unrelenting past.”

Ain’t Them Bodies Saints looks like a solid movie! Definitely a must see!

Despicable Me 2 – Evil minions!

The minions, Gru’s little yellow assistants, are really cute. So cute, that they kind of steal the show in the first film and we can expect as much in the sequel Despicable Me 2. But they won’t be alone this time around, there’s indeed a new breed of purple evil minions! Here’s a first look at those purple evil critters:

(Click on a picture to enlarge.)

Plot:
“Gru is recruited by the Anti-Villain League to help deal with a powerful new super criminal.”

Doesn’t look like the evil minions crave for sweet bananas like the yellow minions… Maybe they’re addicted to bitter grapes?

Despicable Me 2 is directed by the duo Chris Renaud and Pierre Coffin. The voice cast includes Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Benjamin Bratt, Miranda Cosgrove, Russell Brand, Steve Coogan, Ken Jeong, Elsie Fisher, Dana Gaier and Moises Arias.

The film will open in theaters on July 3, 2013.

Poster of The Purge written and directed by James DeMonaco

I just spotted this new poster of The Purge, the upcoming thriller horror movie written and directed by James DeMonaco and starring Ethan Hawke:

(Click on the poster to enlarge.)

THE PURGE

REMINDER: All emergency services will be suspended for a 12-hour period.

Plot:
“In an America wracked by escalating crime and overcrowded prisons, the government has sanctioned an annual 12-hour period in which any and all criminal activity—including murder—becomes legal. The police can’t be called. Hospitals suspend help. It’s one night when the citizenry regulates itself without thought of punishment. On this night plagued by violence and an epidemic of crime, one family wrestles with the decision of who they will become when a stranger comes knocking.
In The Purge, a speculative thriller that follows one family over the course of a single night, four people will be tested to see how far they will go to protect themselves when the vicious outside world breaks into their home.
When James (Training Day’s and Sinister’s ETHAN HAWKE) and Mary Sandin (Game of Thrones’ LENA HEADEY) discover that an intruder (Cougar Town’s EDWIN HODGE) has broken into their gated community during the yearly lockdown, thus begins a sequence of events that threatens to tear their family apart.
Now, it is up to James, Mary and their children—14-year-old Charlie (Parenthood’s MAX BURKHOLDER) and 16-year-old Zoey (Teen Wolf’s ADELAIDE KANE)—to make it through the night without turning into the monsters from whom they hide.”

James DeMonaco was inspired to draft The Purge after a couple of unexpected events put his creative process in motion. Most significantly, the idea for the story was sown when he and his wife were almost killed by a reckless driver. DeMonaco recalls:

“In a fit of terrible road rage, I had gotten out of the car to argue with this guy, and my wife pulled me back. When we got back in, she turned to me and said, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if we all had one free one a year?’ I thought that was such a dark thing to say, especially for a doctor. But it stayed with me for a very long time.”

We believe in freedom from fear, in ordinary acts of bravery, in defending those who cannot defend themselves.

Pacific Rim New Banner and Featurette

Yet a new banner poster of Pacific Rim, the upcoming action science-fiction movie directed by Guillermo del Toro and starring Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, and Rinko Kikuchi:

Trailer of Pacific Rim

(Click on the poster to enlarge.)

And this new featurette of Pacific Rim gives us a better understanding of how the giant robots are piloted by their human controllers:

PACIFIC RIM
Plot:
“When an alien attack threatens the Earth’s existence, giant robots piloted by humans are deployed to fight off the menace.”

So to pilot one of those giant robots, they need two interlinked human brains (that is two pilots who fuse their minds together), because one brain alone would become overloaded by the amount of data. That’s fine.

But I thought those robots were remote controlled drones and it actually looks like the pilots are inside the robots… If they have the technology to build such awesome robots why can’t they control them remotely? It would be much safer for the pilots!

Release Date: July 12, 2013.

Here’s the film poster:

(Click on the poster to enlarge.)

Jennifer Aniston is a damn pretty woman, no doubt about that, but somehow she’s doesn’t make the cut as a stripper… And the plot kind of reminds me of The Joneses… But am still impatient to see the film, it does look funny after all!

Kick-Ass 2 hasn’t been released yet, but we all know that the studios won’t wait long before developing yet a new sequel. Yep, I guess we may consider that a Kick-Ass 3 movie is already planned. And it’s not like they would have to write a script from scratch: Comic Book artist Mark Millar has indeed been working on a new chapter of Kick-Ass that will be published in June 2013.

Here’s the plot of Kick-Ass 3 the comic book:

Plot:
“Hit-Girl is in jail, leaving Kick-Ass to lead the superhero team of Justice Forever. Their first mission: Bust Hit-Girl out of the clink. But superheroes have now been outlawed, leaving Kick-Ass to dodge both cops AND criminals. For the first time since donning the costume, Kick-Ass is beginning to have his doubts. Is he now in too deep to get out?”

And a first official look thanks to Comic Book Resources:
