The Mechanic Movie
A remake of The Mechanic, the 1972 action movie starring Charles Bronson, is under works. The new Mechanic movie is directed by Simon West and is starring Jason Statham in the lead role. It is scheduled for a release on December 15, 2010.
Here below the first official teaser poster of The Mechanic:
Plot:
“A spy thriller in a post 9/11 world.” (Source: IMDb)
I think it won’t be difficult for this new version of The Mechanic to look better than the cheesy 1972 movie.
To get an idea how cheesy the 1972 movie was, just check out this original Mechanic movie trailer: Continue reading »

Some will kill to have it. He will kill to protect it.

“The story of a lone hero who must fight his way across the wasteland of postapocalyptic America to protect a sacred book that might hold the key to saving the future of humanity.”
Eli (Denzel Washington) is carrying a Samurai sword in his back. I wonder where he learned to use it. What is before the apocalypse that created the world described in the Book of Eli movie?

BAD LIEUTENANT
The only criminal he can’t catch is himself.
Plot:
““Terence McDonagh (Nicolas Cage), a homicide detective with the New Orleans Police Department, is promoted to Lieutenant after he saves a prisoner from drowning in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. However, during his heroic act, he severely injures his back and is put on prescription pain medication. A year later, Terence – struggling with his addictions to sex, Vicodin and cocaine – finds himself in the battle to bring down drug dealer Big Fate, who is suspected of massacring an entire family of African immigrants.”
The early reviews of Werner Herzog’s Bad Lieutenant are rather positive. Some even state that this is Nicolas Cage’s best role since a while. Well, from the trailer of Bad Lieutenant I was already hooked. That positive buzz just confirms that I definitely have to go watch Bad Lieutenant when it will be released in theaters!

Planet 51 Movie
A new funny poster of Planet 51 is out there:
Plot:
“American astronaut Captain Charles ‘Chuck’ Baker lands on Planet 51 thinking he’s the first person to step foot on it. To his surprise, he finds that this planet is inhabited by little green people who are happily living in a white picket fence world, and whose only fear is that it will be overrun by alien invaders… like Chuck!”
Love the newspaper headline: “Dog attacks Alien’s Friend! Are our animals sensing the evil plans of aliens?”

Plot:
“The Hole, filmed in 3D, centers on Susan (Teri Polo), a mother who moves with her teen sons to a rural house where the three are forced to face their fears after discovering a bottomless hole in the basement.”
I guess if there was a beautiful woman instead of kids on this movie poster of the Hole, there would be more matter to make jokes…

Tooth Fairy movie
When you were a child did the Tooth Fairy give you money or gifts in exchange for your baby teeth that had fallen out ? If yes, then it’s time to rejoice then: a feature film is dedicated to that generous fairy! The Tooth Fairy is an upcoming comedy family movie directed by Michael Lembeck and starring Dwayne Johnson aka the Rock. The film will be released on January 22, 2010.
The movie poster below gives us a first look at Dwayne Johnson as the Tooth Fairy:
Plot:
“A bad deed on the part of a tough minor-league hockey player (Johnson) results in an unusual sentence: He must serve one week as a real-life tooth fairy.”
Some may think that it’s gonna be a dumb movie, but I don’t care: I have to watch it! When I was a child, I wasn’t much fan of Santa Claus, but I was always waiting for the Fairy Tooth to come to pick up my fallen teeth in exchange of a few bucks.
