Boys in the Trees Movie trailer

Boys in the Trees MovieCheck out the official trailer of Boys in the Trees, the upcoming Australian drama movie written and directed by Nicholas Verso and starring Toby Wallace, Gulliver McGrath, Justin Holborow, Mitzi Ruhlmann, Tom Russell, and Trevor Jamieson:

BOYS IN THE TREES

This Halloween not everyone will survive the dark.

Plot synopsis:
“It’s Halloween 1997 – the last night of high school for Corey, Jango and their skater gang, The Gromits. Childhood is over and adult life beckons. But for Corey, his past has some unfinished business. When he encounters Jonah, a former childhood friend but now victimised by Jango’s cruel streak, Corey takes pity on him and agrees to walk him home for old time’s sake.
What starts off as a normal walk through empty suburban streets descends into something darker and more magical as they tell each other ghost stories, drawing upon their fears of the world around them. As they walk through their memories and ghosts of the past, Corey is surprised to discover how much he still has in common with his abandoned friend. But just as their friendship appears rekindled, a tragic truth may mean he’s made the discovery all too late.”

What a strange trailer, I’m curious to see how the whole thing will turn out. And you?

TONIGHT SHE COMES

“Last night.. she was abducted. This morning.. she was sacrificed. Tonight.. she comes back to life. And everyone else.. will die.”

The trailer doesn’t look that great, they’re trying to emulate one of those VHS trailers from the 1980s, but I totally dig the voice over, lol!

Finding Altamira Movie Trailer

Finding Altamira MovieYou may watch below the official trailer of Finding Altamira, the upcoming history drama movie directed by Hugh Hudson based on a script by Olivia Hetreed and José Luis López-Linares and starring Antonio Banderas:

FINDING ALTAMIRA

Spain 1878.

Based on the incredible true story.

A discovery that would challenge religion, defy science, and divide their lives.

Plot synopsis:
“In 1878, Spanish archaeologist Marcelino (Antonio Banderas) and his daughter Maria (Allegra Allen) discover seemingly impossible paintings of galloping bison adorning the walls of a hidden cave.
The cave of Altamira brings the world together in amazement, drawing people of all types to see the paintings in person. But, Marcelino soon realizes that the art on the walls must be 10,000 years old, earlier than anyone believes possible.
The theory threatens to tear Maria and Marcelino’s family apart while the outside world’s astonishment soon turns to fury and fear. The Catholic Church sees his claims as an attack on biblical truth while scientists prove just as dogmatic and reactionary.
Maria’s fairytale world grows darker as her family faces disaster and Marcelino’s discovery is repressed. Only their love for each other can guide them toward redemption as Marcelino fights to spread the truth.”

Unfortunately there are still bigots who prefer to blindly believe their religious scriptures instead of opening their mind to rational thinking…

Justice League Dark Movie Trailer

Justice League Dark movieLet’s watch the first official trailer of Justice League Dark, the upcoming DC Comic superhero animated movie directed by Jay Oliva:

JUSTICE LEAGUE
Plot synopsis:
“Justice League Dark is what it sounds like. It’s the dark side of justice. A group of supernatural heroes who band together loosely to take on occult threats, supernatural threats – threats that the real Justice League may be powerless against.”

I feel like superhero stories that dip into supernatural territory don’t translate well into animated movies… I’d rather watch a live-action movie like Doctor Strange. I will still see this animated movie, but am not excited about it. And you?

Anyway, here’s an extended look at the film:

The film has yet to get an official release date.
