A preview clip of Public Enemy, the upcoming gangster movie opposing Johnny Depp as gangster John Dillinger to Christian Bale as FBI agent Melvin Purvis:
Assault
FBI Agent Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale) leads a raid on the house where John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) and his gang are hiding.
The movie Public Enemies, which is based on a true story, is inspired by the book “Public Enemies: America’s Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI, 1933–34” written by Bryan Burrough.

You may watch below the first official movie trailer of the Stepfather, an upcoming thriller movie directed by Nelson McCormick, remake of the 1987 movie of the same name:
Plot:
“Dylan Walsh stars as David Harris, very much a ‘family values’ man who mysteriously comes into the lives of single mothers with children and becomes the dream man they always wanted. When he woos Susan Harding (Sela Ward) and eventually moves in with her family, her teenage son Michael (Penn Badgley) begins to suspect that David is not quite the dream man he pretends to be. Along with his girlfriend Kelly (Amber Heard) and Susan’s friends (Paige Turco and Sherry Stringfield) they slowly start to piece together the mystery of the man who is set to become their stepfather, but they may be too late in getting to the truth.”
This stepfather is a real freak! Should put him in an institution asap!
:-(
Nowadays a girl does not have to wait for her boyfriend to propose her: she can propose him first indeed!
Below some more preview clips of the upcoming romantic comedy movie The Proposal:
We are going to Alaska
Margaret (Sandra Bullock) and Andrew (Ryan Reynolds) talk to the INS.
Plot:
“Sandra Bullock stars as a book editor, who forces her assistant Ryan Reynolds to marry her in order to avoid being deported to Canada. When the government investigates, she and her assistant are forced to spend the weekend with his parents in order to sell the lie.”
You think that this INS agent is nosy, just imagine how it is with an agent from the IRS… Believe me: much worse!

The most isolated landmass on the planet,
No official government,
No permanent population…
Temperature: 120 Below zero
Wind speed: 200 miles per hour
No horizon! No Shadows!
There is only White…
Plot:
“A U.S. marshal (Kate Beckinsale), the only one assigned to Antarctica, must investigate a murder on the frozen continent within three days before the arctic winter begins. She crosses paths with a U.N. operative (Gabriel Macht), also investigating the murder.”
The movie Whiteout is an adaptation of the 1999 comic book of the same name by writer Greg Rucka and artist Steve Lieber. In the comic book the crime is just an excuse to show how harsh Antarctica can be: The frozen continent is all white, it’s no paradise, it’s like hell!
Judging from the movie trailer of Whiteout it seems that Dominic Sena’s take is faithful to to the source material and still manage. That’s probably why Greg Rucka himself applauds this film adaptation.
The movie Whiteout will be released on September 11, 2009.

In a bit more than a week Transformers 2 is going to be unleashed. Meanwhile here’s another Transformers Revenge of the Fallen preview clip, this one features the giant Demolishor:
You may watch below the first official trailer of The Time Traveler’s Wife, an upcoming sci-fi romantic movie directed by Robert Schwentke and starring Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams:
The Time Traveler’s Wife is based on on the best-selling book of the same name written by Audrey Niffenegger.
The plot:
“A love that transcends time. Clare has been in love with Henry her entire life. She believes they are destined to be together, even though she never knows when they will be separated: Henry is a time traveler–cursed with a rare genetic anomaly that causes him to live his life on a shifting timeline, skipping back and forth through his lifespan with no control. Despite the fact that Henry’s travels force them apart with no warning, Clare desperately tries to build a life with her one true love.”
Eric Bana is once again tweaking time, but it’s isn’t really a sci-fi movie: it’s a beautiful love story! And not the boring kind a husband is dragged to see with his wife, absolutely not! I believe indeed that the Time Traveler’s Wife movie can reach and interest a very large public.

John Travolta and Robin Williams team up for Old Dogs, an upcoming Disney comedy movie directed by Walt Becker. The movie is scheduled for a release on November 25, 2009.
Here below the first official movie trailer of Old Dogs:
OLD DOGS
Meet Dan and Charlie:
Dan is not great with kids,
Charlie has other interests.
Vicky is back in town…
Life is not child-proof
Plot:
“In this family comedy, John Travolta and Robin Williams play two close business partners whose lives are thrown into disarray when twin seven-year-olds are put into their care. Travolta’s wife, Kelly Preston, co-stars, along with the couple’s daughter, Ella. Other stars include Seth Green and Matt Dillon.”
Strange to see those two actors in the same comedy movie. Judging from this trailer of Old Dogs I don’t really expect to laugh out loud though… But it could still be funny to watch I guess.

You may watch below the trailer of Shutter Island, an upcoming thriller movie directed by Martin Scorsese and based on the 2003 novel of the same name written by Dennis Lehane:
Plot:
“Drama is set in 1954, U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) is investigating the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane and is presumed to be hiding on the remote Shutter Island.”
This Shutter Island movie looks damned great and I’m not surprised: with Leonardo DiCaprio in the cast it couldn’t be otherwise!

You may watch below a video of the world premiere of Transformers which took place in Tokyo in Japan:
Michael Bay acknowledges the Japanese roots of the Transformers and says that it’s appropriate for the premiere of the movie Transformers 2 to be in Japan.
According to the first reviews that start to pop up on the web, we may expect more robots and less humans than in the previous Transformers movie: well sounds like a good thing to me!
Too bad I wasn’t invited to this premiere of ROTF, I would have been glad to pay a ticket to Tokyo just for the event!

Director David R. Ellis and Scriptwriter Eric Bress are back for a fourth opus of the Final Destination movie series. This fourth movie, titled The Final Destination, is scheduled to be released in August 2009. Actor Bobby Campo got the lead role as Nick O’Bannon, the unfortunate dude who thinks that he can cheat Death.
Plot:
“On what should have been a “typical day at the races” for McKinley Speedway, Nick O’Bannon (Bobby Campo) has a grisly premonition of a race car fatally crashing and sending debris into the stands, gruesomely killing his friends, and causing an overhang to collapse on him. He awakens, not being able to shake the feeling of how real his vision appeared, he panics, and just in time, persuades the group of teenagers to leave the bleachers. Immediately afterward objects begin to fly into the public as his frightening dream turns into a tragic reality. Unfortunately for Nick, alongside his girlfriend Lori (Shantel VanSanten) and her best friend Janet (Haley Webb), this is only the beginning. As the survivors begin to die one-by-one in even more terrifying ways than they had originally, Nick must figure out how to cheat Death once and for all before he too reaches his final destination.”
Final Destination 4 will be in 3D: that’s one more dimension for us to better understand how the Grim Reaper does its job!
The movie Final Destination 4, aka The Final Destination, hits theaters on August 21, 2009.
