Invictus TV Clip
The promotion of Invictus is kicking into high gear: TV spots have started to air for the latest movie directed by Clint Eastwood. Here the first two TV clips of Invictus:
Invictus – President Nelson Mandela takes office in Pretoria.
Invictus – He wants us to win the world cup.
Plot:
“After the fall of apartheid, South Africa was host to the 1995 Rugby World Cup. Mandela was in his first term as South African president, and he used the event as a way to end decades of mistrust and hatred between whites and blacks.”
The movie Invictus is starring Matt Damon as Francois Pienaar, the captain of South Africa’s rugby team and Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela, the then newly elected President of South Africa. A quite well selected cast:
Nelson Mandela – Morgan Freeman
There is a striking resemblance!
The movie Invictus will be released this December.

The Road Movie Trailer
There’s a new movie trailer of The Road, the upcoming post-apocalyptic movie directed by John Hillcoat based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy. You may watch this second trailer of The road below:
THE ROAD
Plot:
“An unnamed father (Mortensen) and his young son (Smit-McPhee) struggle to survive after an unspecified apocalypse and make their way toward the coast for possible food, shelter, safety, or to potentially find other survivors of the cataclysmic events. Along the way, they encounter grave struggles and hardships across the barren landscapes, with scarce shelter and resources available to them, and having to avoid bands of cannibals and other desperate gangs looking to pillage valuables and food. Various flashback sequences occur where the Man remembers events prior to the catastrophe, many involving his deceased wife, who has a much more expanded role in the film than in the original book.”
Cast:
– Viggo Mortensen as the Man.
– Kodi Smit-McPhee as the Boy.
– Charlize Theron as the Wife, who appears in flashback.
– Michael K. Williams as a thief.
– Guy Pearce as a father wandering with his family.
– Robert Duvall as an old, dying man.
I read the book, and even if I feel like the world was darker in Cormac McCarthy’s book, I still think that John Hillcoat’s The Road is a faithful adaptation. I’m quite impatient to watch The Road!

Green Zone Movie Trailer
Green Zone is an upcoming movie directed by Paul Greengrass and starring Matt Damon, Amy Ryan, Greg Kinnear, Antoni Corone and Nicoye Banks. It’s is a war thriller movie taking place in the Green Zone in Iraq. Let’s watch the movie trailer of Green Zone:
GREEN ZONE
Plot:
“During the U.S.-led occupation of Baghdad in 2003, Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller (Damon) and his team of Army inspectors were dispatched to find weapons of mass destruction believed to be stockpiled in the Iraqi desert. Rocketing from one booby-trapped and treacherous site to the next, the men search for deadly chemical agents but stumble instead upon an elaborate cover-up that inverts the purpose of their mission.
Spun by operatives with intersecting agendas, Miller must hunt through covert and faulty intelligence hidden on foreign soil for answers that will either clear a rogue regime or escalate a war in an unstable region. And at this blistering time and in this combustible place, he will find the most elusive weapon of all is the truth.”
Getting a bit bored of all those films taking place in Iraq… I’ll go watch the movie Green Zone when it’s released in March 2010, but only because it is starring Matt Damon…

Shutter Island New Trailer
A new version of the trailer of Shutter Island has popped up online. It is not much that much different from the previous one, just a few new shots here an there:
Shutter Island
Plot:
“Nothing at Ashecliffe Hospital is what it seems. And neither is Teddy Daniels. Is he there to find a missing patient? Or has he been sent to look into rumors of Ashecliffe’s radical approach to psychiatry? The closer Teddy and Chuck get to the truth, the more elusive it becomes, and the more they begin to believe that they may never leave Shutter Island. Because someone is trying to drive them insane…”
Nobody is really protected against insanity, it could take over at any time! But fortunately our brain manages to keep a balance most of the time.
