Plot synopsis:
“A film based on the life and work of the great poet Emily Dickinson. She wrote a poem a day, but only a fraction of her output was published throughout her lifetime. She was extremely shy, but with a wry, lively sense of humor and loved to laugh or to be made to laugh. Her friendships were intense but it was within the family that she found her greatest happiness. Her life is one of quiet dignity. The poetry magnificent. All the terror and beauty of the world distilled down to the quintessence of meaning and expression. She is quite simply one of the world’s greatest poets.”
Besides Cynthia Nixon, the cast also includes Jennifer Ehle, Keith Carradine, Emma Bell, Duncan Duff, Jodhi May, Catherine Bailey, Joanna Bacon, Annette Badland, and Eric Loren.
There’s also a teaser poster:

And two preview clips from the film:
A Quiet Passion – Going to church is like going to Boston: you enjoy it after you’ve gotten home
A Quiet Passion – God has already given himself to me.
Those funny clips of A Quiet Passion made my day. Actress Catherine Bailey who plays the role of Vryling Buffam is totally stealing the show in that first scene!
The film has yet to get an official release date (possibly in September in the U.K.).
