Plot synopsis:
“The flightless angry birds and the scheming green piggies take their beef to the next level in The Angry Birds Movie 2! When a new threat emerges that puts both Bird and Pig Island in danger, Red (Jason Sudeikis), Chuck (Josh Gad), Bomb (Danny McBride), and Mighty Eagle (Peter Dinklage) recruit Chuck’s sister Silver (Rachel Bloom) and team up with pigs Leonard (Bill Hader), his assistant Courtney (Awkwafina), and techpig Garry (Sterling K. The movie Angry Birds performed quite well in theaters, the film made more $340 million worldwide for a $73 million production budget. So there’s no wondering the studios are considering a sequel. Rovio Chief Executive Kati Levoranta (a really cute CEO by the way) said:

“With the excellent performance of our games portfolio and the fantastic movie, the Angry Birds brand is flying high and we are seeing positive EBIT and cash flow development, while fulfilling our mission to create world class entertainment. We currently have several exciting new games and other projects in development, including new IP, and we have started planning the sequel to The Angry Birds Movie.”
