Plot synopsis:
“On Australia’s most controversial national holiday, the lives of three Australians from diverse cultural backgrounds will collide, illuminating contemporary issues of racial tension and national identity that simmer beneath the surface of modern Australia
April (Miah Madden) is a 14-year-old Indigenous teen fleeing from a car crash. 17-year-old Iranian boy Sami (Elias Anton) is running from a crime he didn’t commit. Lan (Jenny Wu), from China, is escaping sexual slavery. Elsewhere there’s Sonya (Shari Sebbens), an Indigenous cop wracked by guilt, and Terry (Bryan Brown), a cattle farmer who’s just lost everything.”
