Plot synopsis:
“Valerie has just been released from prison after serving time for a drunk driving accident that took the life of her neighbor. She’s clearly been hardened by her stint behind bars. There’s tension with husband and daughters, thanks to her stubborn refusal to discuss anything that’s happened. Besides some awkwardness, though, the avoidance plan actually seems to be working. That is, until her neighbor’s son Mark shows up looking for answers. He isn’t quite convinced by the account of what happened on the night of his dad’s death. He begins snooping on Valerie, digging for any dirt he can find. Defensive and paranoid, she goes to great lengths to cover her tracks and protect her family. However, Mark is not the type to give up easily.”

Listening to her it sounds just like small talk!

Plot synopsis:
“After years in prison for a drunk driving accident causing death, former convict Valerie Walker (Sheila McCarthy) returns home. She is greeted by her daughters, Eleanor (Katie Boland) and Zoe (Grace Glowicki), and the three hit a burger joint before returning to their suburban home. The community keeps to itself and Valerie plans on moving on without revisiting any of the events she has had years to ponder.
But the deceased man’s son Mark (Noah Reid) soon shows up at Valerie’s door. He comes for closure, but makes his suspicions about Valerie’s motives crystal clear as he does his intention to dig until he hits the core. Exasperated, Valerie needs to keep at bay past witnesses, an inquisitive therapist, and a creeping Mark, all while protecting her daughters.”

Sounds like it wasn’t just an accident from the plot synopsis…
