Plot: “The film revolves around the state security agent Leo Stepanovich Demidov (Tom Hardy), a war hero, and true believer in the communist state despite its hypocrisy and brutality in the final days of Stalin’s rule. In 1953, Leo is dispatched to investigate a series of child murders — a case that begins to connect with the very top of party leadership. His increasing determination to find the killer leads him to reclaim his humanity from an oppressive regime.”
The cast includes Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman and Vincent Cassel. The film is based on the novel of the same name by by British writer Tom Rob Smith.
