Plot synopsis:
“In the notoriously seedy Limehouse district of 19th century London, a series of murders shake the city. The crimes are so monstrous the press claim they are the work of ‘The Golem’ – a mythic creature from European legend. With no leads and in a desperate attempt to avoid the mob’s wrath, Scotland Yard promotes the seemingly inexperienced Detective Kildare (Bill Nighy) to stop the slaughtering.
Attending the trial of Elizabeth Cree (Olivia Cooke), a music hall performer accused of poisoning her husband, Kildaire delves deep into the case and is soon hot on the trail of a deranged killer whose scribblings litter some of the books in the august British Museum.”

London was a dirty-but-funny city back in the good old days, lol!

Still no official release date.

Plot synopsis:
“The year is 1880 and the backdrop is London’s notoriously seedy Limehouse district, home to vagrants, petty thieves, violent hooligans, and an organized criminal underworld.
A serial murderer, whose horrendous acts soon have the city in a panic, is on the loose. Inscriptions in Latin are streaked across walls in the blood of victims. The crimes are so disturbing that many attribute them to the shadowy golem of Jewish legend. An inspector named Kildaire (Bill Nighy) is brought in to solve the mystery and calm the population. Attending the trial of Elizabeth Cree (Olivia Cooke), a music hall performer accused of poisoning her husband, Kildaire delves deep into the case and is soon hot on the trail of a deranged killer whose scribblings litter some of the books in the august British Museum.”

Who is the mysterious serial killer there’s chasing? Jack the Ripper?

No official release date.

The Limehouse Golem Movie

Just a few pictures pictures from the set of The Limehouse Golem, the upcoming British horror thriller movie directed by Juan Carlos Medina from a script by Jane Goldman and based on the 1994 novel “Dan Leno and the Limehouse Golem” by Peter Ackroyd:

Plot synopsis:
“London, 1880. In the dangerous Limehouse district, a series of murders have shaken the community.
So monstrous and ruthless are these crimes the press claim they’re the work of The Golem – a creature from folklore, an almost mythical predecessor of Jack the Ripper. The Golem strikes again. With no genuine leads, the police put the vastly experienced Detective Inspector Kildare (Bill Nighy) on the case, a scapegoat for when the next victim surfaces.
In the vein of From Hell and The Woman in Black, The Limehouse Golem is a gothic murder mystery set in the darkest alleys of Victorian London.”

Actor Bill Nighy looks like a real gentleman in that old suit, doesn’t he?

The film is starring Olivia Cooke, Bill Nighy, Douglas Booth, Adam Brown, Eddie Marsan, Daniel Mays, Morgan Watkins, and Peter Sullivan.

It has yet to get an official release date.
