The Personal History of Rachel DuPree Movie
Take a look to this teaser poster of The Personal History of Rachel DuPree, the upcoming drama movie written and directed by Claire McCarthy based on the novel of the same name by Ann Weisgarber and starring Viola Davis, Mahershala Ali, and Quvenzhane Wallis:
THE PERSONAL HISTORY OF RACHEL DUPREE
In the Badlands pride means nothing, family means everything.
Based on the award winning novel by Ann Weisgarber.
“Badlands, 1917. Rachel, heavily pregnant, is holed up on an isolated ranch with her five starving children.
Playing an unsettling game of cat and mouse with her ambitious, stubborn husband, she knows her family will never survive the impending bitter winter unless he relents and allows them to leave. Taunted by the secrets and lies that scatter her marriage to a man she loves with such passion yet somehow barely knows, Rachel finds herself forced to take matters into her own hands.
As she takes stock of her choices, she prepares to fight with all her might for her family’s survival and for values that are worth more than land, ambition and public appearance.
Most of all she fights for herself and for her children to be free.”
I haven’t read the book the film is based on. Is it any good? Anyway, since the Viola Davis and Mahershala Ali are on board, I can but be impatient to see the film.
The film has yet to get an official release date.
