Mattie Ross (Hailee Steinfeld), a 14-year-old girl, undertakes a quest to avenge her father’s death at the hands of a drifter named Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin). On her way, she hires the toughest U.S. marshal (Jeff Bridges) she can find, a man with true grit, Reuben J. Rooster Cogburn. They are joined by Texas Ranger LaBoeuf (Matt Damon), who wants Chaney for his own purposes. The unlikely trio will find danger and surprises on the journey.

Enlisting the help of a trigger-happy, drunken U.S. Marshal, Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges), she sets out with him — over his objections — to hunt down Chaney. Her father’s blood demands that she pursue the criminal into Indian territory and find him before a Texas Ranger named LeBoeuf (Matt Damon) catches him and brings him back to Texas for the murder of another man.”

“Mattie Ross (Hailee Steinfeld), a 14-year-old girl, undertakes a quest to avenge her father’s death at the hands of a drifter named Tom Chaney (Josh brolin). Ross persuades an alcoholic marshal named Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges) to join her in tracking down Chaney.”
Besides Jeff Bridges, the film is also starring Matt Damon, Josh Brolin, Hailee Steinfeld, Barry Pepper, and Paul Rae. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Charles Portis. It’s not the first time True Grit is adapted into a movie: the first film was starring John Wayne. But the Coen Brothers’ True grit will be more faithful to the book, it will focus on the girl’s point of view.
