OldBoy Movie Trailer

Let’s watch the first official movie trailer of OldBoy, the upcoming drama movie directed by Spike Lee and based on the Japanese manga of the same name (thanks to fellow movie fan Nami for pointing this out!):

OLDBOY
Plot:
“The film is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.”

Spike Lee’s OldBoy is not the first movie adaptation of the Japanese manga. The first adaptation, released in 2003, was directed by South-Korean Director Chan-wook Park.

Do you think Spike Lee’s version will be better than Chan-wook Park’s film? Or just a copy with Westerners for actors?

The film is starring Josh Brolin, Sharlto Copley, Elizabeth Olsen, and Samuel L. Jackson. It will hit theaters on October 25, 2013.
