Guy Pearce and Cobie Smulders do make for a lovely couple on screen, don’t they?

Director Bryan Singer (who helmed X-Men Days of Future Past) has been confirmed at the head of X-Men Apocalypse, the upcoming superhero movie sequel that’s set to hit theaters in 2016. And a first official plot synopsis of the film has been revealed:

Plot:
“Apocalypse takes place a decade after Days of Future Past and is a seamless next step in the story. The altering of time has unleashed a new and uniquely powerful enemy.
