Just a news update regarding the Splinter Cell movie adaptation that’s been in development since quite a while. From what I read here and there the project is getting some new steam and is moving forward: Director Doug Liman (who helmed The Bourne Identity and Edge of Tomorrow) is attached to the project, and Actor Tom Hardy (who played the role of Bane in The Dark Knight Rises) will have the lead role.

The script was written by Eric Warren Singer (who co-wrote the script of American Hustle). unfortunately there’s no official plot synopsis yet.
For those who don’t know Splinter Cell, it’s a series of 3D action-adventure video games from Ubisoft. The game focuses on Sam Fisher, a highly trained secret agent.
The film is listed for a release in 2015 by IMDb, but since they haven’t started filming yet, don’t get your hopes up too high yet.
Anyway, do you think Doug Liman is the right man to helm a Splinter Cell movie? And what you think of Tom Hardy getting the lead role? Is he fit for the role?
Stay tuned with us for more details about Splinter Cell the movie.
