But I guess Michael Bay wants something bigger to match the scale of Optimus Prime. But then, he could have chosen a hummer… Why did he pick up a truck that could come straight from Mad Max or Death Race?

What do you think of the plot of Transfomers 4? Impatient to see the film? :?
“We’re going to start off smaller. There’s a brand new cast. To freshen the franchise, we’ve redesigned everything from top to bottom. The history of the first three movies is still there. We start four years later and there’s a reason why we’re meeting a new cast. […] We keep the Transformers the way they were. It’s just four years later. There’s a reason the Transformers are redesigned. We’re trying to broaden the franchise and give it more places to go.”
Director Michael Bay
A new design? Broaden the franchise? New places to go? What does he mean? Is the next Transformers movie heading to space or maybe going underwater? Will the Dinobots or the Micromasters show up? Any idea? :?
Director Michael Bay announced on his official site that Actor Jack Reynor, pictured above, is joining the cast of Transformers 4 for a lead role:
“I just hired a great new actor for Transformers 4 to star against Mark Wahlberg. Jack Reynor, he is an Irish kid that came to America with 30 bucks in his pocket. Pretty ballsy. Seriously who does that? Anyway I spotted him in a great little Irish movie WHAT RICHARD DID. This kid is the real deal. Transformers 4, is not a reboot. That word has been floating around on the net. This movie takes place exactly 4 years after the war in Chicago. The story makes a very natural transition, and reason as to why we have a whole new cast. This Transformers will feel very different then the last three. We are embarking on a new trilogy.”
Director Michael Bay
He looks as boring as Shia Labeouf! Well I guess they don’t want a lead character who’s too handsome so that the average male moviegoer like you or me can relate.
Anyway, the release date of Transformers 4 is set for June 27, 2014. :)
Director Michael Bay still wants to keep the lid on the plot of Transformers 4, but did give away a few plot details in a recent interview:
“The movie will continue four years from the Attack on Chicago; which is in the last movie. So it’s going to still have the same lineage. And it’s going a full new direction and feels very natural how it’s going in that direction, there is no way you’re going to ever find out what the story because you don’t have to dig through my trash but I shredded my trash…Pentagon level encryption on our computers. So good luck to ya!”
Director Michael Bay
Four years after the attack? Who’s going to be the main villain this time around then?
By the way, the release date of Transformers 4 has been pushed back by a few days to July 4, 2014. :)
Director Michael Bay will helm the new installment. And it’s now official, Mark Wahlberg will play a role in Transformers 4, don’;t know yet if he will have a lead role.
The release date of Transformers 4 is set for June 27, 2014. :)
Director Michael Bay revealed that Transformers 4 (the new Transformers movie that’s set to ignore Sam Witwicky, Shia Labeouf’s character) will be a sequel to the first three movies:
“It’s not a reboot, that’s maybe the wrong word. I don’t want to say reboot because then people will think we’re doing a Spider-Man and starting from the beginning. We’re not. We’re taking the story that you’ve seen — the story we’ve told in three movies already — and we’re taking it in a new direction. But we’re leaving those three as the history. It all still counts. I met with the writer before I went off to do ‘Pain and Gain’ and we talked about a bunch of ideas. We let that simmer for a bit. He’s been thinking about stuff and now we’re getting back together next week to see what we’ve got and to see if it gels. [And about the film heading to space:] I want to go a little off but I don’t want to go too sci-fi. I still want to keep it grounded. That’s what works in these movies, that’s what makes it accessible.”
Director Michael Bay
From what I heard Shia Laebouf isn’t reprising his role as Sam Witwicky: the franchise is set to introduce new characters and focus a bit more on the Transformers. :)
