Di you know that nutcrackers in the form of wooden carvings of a soldier, knight, king, or other profession have existed since at least the 15th century?!

Here’s a first official look at Actress Amanda Seyfried in the Red Riding Hood, an upcoming fantasy movie directed by Catherine Hardwicke (who once brought us Twilight):

“A Gothic horror re-imagining of the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale. A young girl (Amanda Seyfried) travels alone through the forest to her grandmother’s house. Will she escape the werewolf who’s terrorizing her medieval village?”
The pictures above are actually screenshots of a promo clip for MTV’s The Seven:
Red Riding Hood Sneak Peek
On Monday we’ll get to see a sneak preview of the Red Riding Hood on MTV, and the first Red Riding Hood movie trailer is likely to show in front of Harry Potter 7.
Update – Two more pictures of the Red Riding Hood movie:
We’ve got our hands on the first movie trailer of Battle Los Angeles the upcoming sci-fi alien invasion movie directed by Jonathan Liebesman and starring Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Michael Pena, and Bridget Moynahan:
BATTLE LOS ANGELES
Plot:
“Battle Los Angeles revolves around a Marine staff sergeant (Aaron Eckhart) and his new platoon’s battle against an alien invasion on the streets of Los Angeles. The movie is presented as an intense real-time war movie from the perspective of the Marines.”
The movie Battle Los Angeles isn’t related to Skyline (well the visual effects company Hydraulx did work on both), but it feels like they are: with skyline following civilians and Battle Los Angeles rather focusing on soldiers, I’d say that they’re complementary. Well can’t have enough of those alien invasion movie. thanks God for we have science fiction to entertain us!

When Greg and Pam’s entire clan-including Pam’s lovelorn ex, Kevin (Owen Wilson)-descends for the twins’ birthday party, Greg must prove to the skeptical Jack that he’s fully capable as the man of the house.

Here’s the latest movie trailer of Season of the Witch, the upcoming fantasy action adventure movie starring Nicolas Cage, Ron Perlman, and Claire Foy:
Plot:
“A heroic Crusader (Nicolas Cage) and his closest friend (Ron Perlman) return home after decades of fierce fighting, only to find their world destroyed by the Plague. The church elders, convinced that a girl (Claire Foy) accused of being a witch is responsible for the devastation, command the two to transport the strange girl to a remote monastery where monks will perform an ancient ritual to rid the land of her curse. They embark on a harrowing, action-filled journey that will test their strength and courage as they discover the girl’s dark secret and find themselves battling a terrifyingly powerful force that will determine the fate of the world.”
Do they really have to burn the witch? She’s a cute witch…
