The Other Guys movie is directed by Adam McKay and is starring Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson, Samuel L. Jackson and Steve Coogan. It will open in theaters on August 6, 2010.

This concept art seems to confirm what Vin Diesel previously announced on his Facebook wall regarding the plot of Riddick 3:

“We’re going to find Riddick alone for the first part of the movie, barely alive, surrounded by carnivorous monsters who are trying to eat him. So you’ll see a futuristic Rambo-esque Riddick trying to survive.
[…]
David Twohy is scripting the next installment of Riddick as we speak, and it’s underway. The story will return to a Pitch Black [sensibility] while servicing the mythology that’s been enhanced in Chronicles of Riddick.”

We make tens and tens of millions of dollars on ancillary stuff, toys, apparel, music and publishing. If we do a movie all of that will grow exponentially. We have some numbers if we do a movie, but it changes everything. It also changes our target and age demographic.”

As long as they find a cooperative studio and if they agree to put enough money on the table, this live-action Halo movie could indeed be a blockbuster.
