We’ve heard about a live action movie adaptation of Akira since quite a while, but the project was in development limbo. Well there’s reason to hope again: Warner Bros has hired the Hughes Brothers (who once brought us the Book of Eli) to helm the project. And Screenwriter Albert Torres is working on a new script. So hopefully, we’ll get to watch the movie Akira in a not too distant future.
Plot:
“The story is set in a neon-lit futuristic post-nuclear war ‘Neo-Manhattan’ where a teen biker gang member is subjected to a government experiment which unleashes his latent powers.”
On one hand I’m sad they they still haven’t released this live-action movie adaptation of Akira, but on the other hand they better take time to do it right, don’t want to the movie Akira to be a let down!

We’ve got our hands on a new international red-band trailer of Predators:
PREDATORS
“Royce (Adrien Brody) awakens from unconsciousness to find himself parachuting into an unfamiliar jungle… He and a group of elite warriors are hunted by members of a merciless alien race known as Predators.”
Do you think Adrien Brody will make it back to Earth at the end of the movie Predators?

Bruce Willis got the lead role in Red, a live-action movie adaptation of the DC Comics graphic novel of the same name by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner. The film is directed by Robert Schwentke. Their take on Red is an action comedy movie. Here below the first official movie trailer of Red:
RED
“Red is the story of Frank Moses (Willis), a former black-ops CIA agent, who is now living a quiet life. That is, until the day a hi-tech assassin shows up intent on killing him. With his identity compromised and the life of the woman he cares for, Sarah (Parker), endangered, Frank reassembles his old team (Freeman, Malkovich and Mirren) in a last ditch effort to survive.”
It shouldn’t, but it kind of reminds me of the movie Burn After Reading… Well the movie Red looks decent, not sure it’s going to be a hit though…
The movie Red will be released on October 15, 2010.

Yet a new trailer of Inception, the upcoming science-fiction thriller mystery movie written and directed by
Christopher Nolan and starring Leonardo Di Caprio:
INCEPTION
“Dominic Cobb is an industrial spy who instead of breaking into a person’s home, office, or even computer, gets the information he needs by getting into the person’s mind through their dreams. Cobb is also a fugitive who misses his children. Someone approaches Cobb and wants to hire him but instead of getting information out, the man wants Cobb to implant something, a process called ‘inception’, which is not easy to do. Cobb is hesitant to do it but when the man offers to help Cobb go back to his children, Cobb agrees. So he assembles his team but when they begin, there are things Cobb didn’t tell his team that could jeopardize the job and when they occur they’re not sure if they should continue.”
