Green Lantern 2 Movie

Green Lantern 2 MovieThere is some confusion about who’s going to be the main villain of the upcoming Green Lantern movie. There are two potential villains, both are mentioned in the cast list:
– Sinestro, a power-hungry Green Lantern who wants to overthrow the guardians
– Hector Hammond, a twisted human who’s been exposed to a meteor while Jordan Hal was getting his hand on his superhero ring.

Green Lantern 2 Trailer

If Hector Hammond is the main villain of the first film (same storyline as in Geoff Johns’ “Green Lantern: Secret Origin”), then you can bet there would be a Green Lantern movie sequel! While the first film would introduce the public to the Green Lantern and his universe, the movie Green lantern 2 would be a real showdown between the Green Lantern Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) and the Machiavellian Sinestro.

But that’s only speculation because so far plot details of the first film are still kept under wrap… And actually it could well be Sinestro in the first film and Hector Hammond in the movie Green Lantern 2.

Kung Fu Panda 2 Movie

Kung Fu Panda 2 MovieJennifer Yuh Nelson, who was head of story on the first Kung Fu Panda, is taking over the direction of the movie sequel Kung Fu Panda 2, which is officially titled Kung Fu Panda The Kaboom of Doom. Dreamworks will release Kung Fu Panda 2 next year on June 3, 2011. Jack Black and the other members of the voice cast will of course reprise their roles. Dreamworks announced that Kung Fu Panda 2 The Kaboom of Doom will be in 3D and will be released in digital and Imax theaters.

Kung Fu Panda 2 Trailer

Plot:
“The plot will involve a new villain with a weapon so powerful it threatens the very existence of kung fu. It is up to Po, Shifu, and the Furious Five to defend it; and along the way, Po must confront his past.”

The first Kung Fu Panda movie was a great movie: a funny plot, awesome characters and gorgeous animation. If Dreamworks can keep the same combination while going 3D, then the movie Kung Fu Panda 2 will be a hit for sure! And I’m quite impatient to see Jack Black let the panda inside him go wild again!

What about you? Impatient to watch the movie Kung Fu Panda 2 or do you think this sequel is not necessary?

Ghost in the Shell Movie

Ghost in the Shell MovieScreenwriter Laeta Kalogridis has been hired by Steven Spielberg’s Dreamworks to pen a script for the upcoming live-action 3D movie adaptation of Ghost in the Shell. And she’s been talking about her take on the famous manga:

“I’ve got Ghost in the Shell, which is an adaptation of another manga and anime with DreamWorks and Steven’s producing that and I’m hoping that the draft will come in pretty soon and I’m hoping he’ll like it. DreamWorks had the material and I have loved it for years and years and years. They contacted me about it when they found out that I was interested. I mean, there’s just no other property quite like it. It could actually be three two-hour movies, which is what I would vote for, but it’s the seminal cyberpunk text as something like Neuromancer. I mean, it really just is, and there’s nothing else like it.”

Scriptwriter Laeta Kalogridis

So she’s thinking about writing a trilogy? Well I hope she will manage to convince the execs at Dreeamworks because I strongly agree with her when she says that there is a lot to develop with Ghost in the shell! The universe created by Masamune Shirow is damn huge and would definitely deserve to become a movie franchise.

Here’s the movie trailer of Ghost in the Shell, the animated movie:

GHOST IN THE SHELL

Plot:
“A female cyborg cop and her partner hunt a mysterious and powerful hacker called the Puppet Master.”

I was blown away by the Ghost in the Shell animated movie at the time, so I wait with impatience for Dreamworks’ live action 3D adaptation and have high expectations!

Lost Symbol Movie

Columbia pictures has hired Scriptwriter Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things) to pen the screenplay of the Lost Symbol adaptation, the third movie in the Da Vinci Code movie series. The film will be based on Dan Brown’s Lost Symbol in which Robert Langdon, who’s in Whashington, D.C, get involved in a story linked to Freemasonry. Tom Hanks will reprise his role as Robert Langdon and Ron Howard is quite likely to be back to as director of the Lost Symbol.

Lost Symbol Trailer

The official release date of the Lost Symbol hasn’t been announced yet, but we heard that Colombia Pictures is scheduling a 2012 release.

The Lost Symbol MoviePlot:
“In The Lost Symbol, Robert Langdon (tom Hanks) goes to Washington to give a lecture at the request of his old mentor, Peter Solomon. When he arrives at the US Capitol for his lecture, he instead finds Peter’s severed hand mounted on a wooden base, fingers pointing skyward to the Rotunda ceiling fresco of George Washington ascending to heaven. This is the first in a line of clues where Langdon must decode the symbols of the Freemasons in order to stop a villain known as Mal’akh, a steroid-swollen, fantastically tattooed madman, who wants to locate a portal to the wisdom known as the Ancient Mysteries so he can then rule the world.”

The story of the Lost Symbol kind of sounds like the plot of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes… But I guess there will be more mystery in the Lost Symbol, after all, the film is based on a book by Dan brown, the Da Vinci Code’s author.
