Edge of Darkness Movie Trailer

Edge of Darkness MovieEdge of Darkness is yet an other thriller movie about a father who’s looking for answers and revenge, following the murder of his daughter. The film is directed by Martin Campbell and is starring Mel Gibson, Ray Winstone, Danny Huston, Shawn Roberts, Bojana Novakovic, Frank Grillo, Gbenga Akinnagbe. It will be released on January 29, 2010. Here’s the official movie trailer of Edge of Darkness

EDGE OF DARKNESS

Plot:
“Edge of Darkness centers on a veteran cop (Mel Gibson) whose only grown-up child (Bojana Novakovic) is murdered on the steps of his home. The cop unearths his daughter’s secret life and discovers a world of corporate cover-ups and government collusion. Huston takes on the role of a shady businessman while Roberts will play the role of the daughter’s distraught boyfriend.”

Less action than in Taken or in Law Abiding Citizen, but they put more emphasis on the plot in Edge of Darkness. I’d say that Edge of Darkness looks like a solid thriller even if it’s not an exceptional movie…

Mirrors 2 Movie

20th Century Fox has greenlit the production of a movie sequel to Mirrors, the remake horror movie starring Kiefer Sutherland. Mirrors 2 will be directed by Victor Garcia (who once brought us Return to the House on Haunted Hill). The film will be based on a script by Matt Venne. Surprisingly there is already a synopsis online:

Plot:
“After losing his fiancee in a car crash, for which he blames himself, suicidal Max Matheson reluctantly takes a job as a night watchman at his father’s Mayflower Department Store. When his co-workers are killed off in gruesome and horrible ways and Max begins to see a mysterious young woman in all the store’s mirrors, desperate to communicate with him, he fears he’s losing his mind, or that he may be the next victim.”

Filming of Mirrors 2 is set to start in November, so the movie will probably be released in Summer or Fall 2010.

I wonder if Mirrors 2 will come up with a scene as gruesome as that creepy bathtub scene from the first film: Continue reading »

Independence Day 2 Movie

Independence Day 2 MovieThere could be a movie sequel to Independence Day 2 if Director Roland Emmerich finds enough support. Indeed, he’s been talking about a potential Independence Day 2 movie to MTV:

Independence Day 2 Trailer

“Dean Devlin and I are still set to make a sequel likely because we’ve found some sort of idea and we approached FOX and FOX has not quite figured out how to incorporate Dean’s and my deal, and Will’s (Smith) deal. Will wants to do it in some sort of a package they can live with. So it’s just been in negations now since forever, and naturally FOX says ‘Why don’t you do it without Will Smith?’ I said Will is essential for us, for this movie and actually for the audience too. And, so, it’s in limbo and lately the studios are fighting. Like gross players, and Will is a gross player and is probably the only gross player right now who’s worth his gross. So we’ll see what happens. I would love to do it.”

Director Roland Emmerich

I’d be thrilled by a new Independence Day movie. But what could be the plot of a sequel? A new wave of aliens coming to avenge those who died in the explosion of the alien mothership that was destroyed by Will Smith’s Trojan horse? Or maybe it would be about a few aliens surviving the final counter-attack and who have since infiltrated our world?

Any guess about the plot of Independence Day 2? Any advice for Roland Emmerich?

“The film is set in Richmond, Virginia in the year 1976. One night, a financially strapped, married couple (Diaz and Marsden) receive a box containing a button. The next morning a mysterious disfigured stranger (Frank Langella), tells them that pushing the button on the box will have two consequences. First, someone in the world who they don’t know will die. Second, they will receive $1,000,000.”

Would you push the button of the Box?
