Director Tim Burton and Actor Johnny Depp are teaming up for the movie adaptation of Dark Shadows, the classic 1960s gothic TV soap opera. Besides the vampire Barnabas Collins, the original Dark Shadows show featured werewolves, ghosts, zombies, man-made monsters, witches, warlocks, time travel (both into the past and into the future), and a parallel universe.
Tim Burton’s Dark Shadow is said to include vampires, but no clue yet if the film will reunite all the monsters.
Filming of the Dark Shadows movie is set to start in Fall 2010. So the film will probably be released in 2011.

Here below three new stills from the movie Valentine’s Day, the upcoming romantic comedy directed by Garry Marshal (who once brought us Pretty Woman):

We just learned via Shock Till You Drop that Resident Evil 4, aka Resident Evil Afterlife, has been postponed from August 21, 2010 to January 14, 2011! Yep, it’s a sad day… But for once, they have a good reason to delay the film: it’s because they need more time for post production and for special effects. So it’s not just to drive the RE fan crazy.

The new release date of Resident Evil 4 isn’t so far ahead, we’re ‘just’ a year from it…

Back in March Vin Diesel talk to SciFi Wire about a possible Riddick 3 movie:
[…]
David Twohy is scripting the next installment of Riddick as we speak, and it’s underway. The story will return to a Pitch Black [sensibility] while servicing the mythology that’s been enhanced in Chronicles of Riddick.”
Well the project seems on a good track according to those tidbits that Vin Diesel shared on his facebook page:
“The Riddick team is in New Zealand location scouting already… that’s exciting.” (December 1, 2009)
“P.s. The Riddick team has returned from New Zealand, and from the images, it’s no wonder why DT loved it… it’s like a director’s paradise.” (December 6, 2009)
I still wonder why Riddick would have left the Necromonger throne he won in Riddick 2. But I’m kind of happy to know that the franchise goes back to its roots and that Riddick hasn’t become fat king giving orders to his soldiers.
I wait with impatience for the movie Riddick 3!

Take a look to this new poster of Solomon Kane:
Plot:
“A mercenary who owes his soul to the devil redeems himself by fighting evil.”
They kind of oversell the film with those posters of Solomon Kane… I mean James Purefoy who’s got the lead role does not look as badass in the movie…
:/
Entertainment Tonight had the chance to talk to Jennifer Lopez and Alex O’Loughlin when filming of the Back-up Plan wasn’t wrapped yet, just a few months ago. Here’s the interview of Jennifer Lopez on the set of the Back-up Plan, Alex O’Loughlin shows up too:
Back-up Plan – On the set with Jennifer Lopez and Alex O’Loughlin
Plot
“A romantic comedy centered on Zoe (Jennifer Lopez), a woman who conceives twins through artificial insemination, only to meet Stan (Alex O’Loughlin), the man of her dreams, on the very same day.”
J Lo looks like a damn lovely young mother! Her own experience as mother must positively influence her performance in the Back-up Plan. This will probably be a romantic comedy worth watching!

Looks like the current season of Smallville won’t be the last one. According to Allison Mack, who plays the role of Clark Kent’s best friend Chloe Sullivan, has kind of confirmed that Smallville Season 10 will air one day:
Well that’s rather good news! The season 9 is way better than the previous seasons so I’d be quite happy if they were delaying the final end of the TV series. If Smallville Season 10 really happens, I hope that we’ll be treated with the revelation of the real Superman at the end. I mean I want Clark Kent to wear his glasses while at the daily planet (we did see them once in season 9) and I want him to wear his Superman outfit when he goes fight against the crime in Metropolis, and last but not least Clark Kent must definitely learn to fly! Then he would become the real Superman!
Let’s hope that CW will greenlight Smallville Season 10!

Take a look to the latest poster of ‘From Paris with Love’, the upcoming action movie directed by Pierre Morel and written by Luc Besson and Adi Hasak:
From the director of Taken
Two Agents, one city, no merci.
The tagline of this poster of ‘From Paris With Love’ is a pun on the French word ‘merci’ (which means thank you) and the word mercy.

A first preview clip of It’s Complicated, the upcoming romantic comedy starring Alec Baldwin, Meryl Streep and Steve Martin, is available:
It’s Complicated – Feeling Groovy
Jane (Meryl Streep) and Adam (Steve Martin) have fun at a party until her ex-husband Jake (Alec Baldwin) arrives.
Meryl Streep is still somewhat beautiful for her age.

Megamind is the new title of Dreamwork’s Oobermind (which was also previously titled Master Mind). I guess Megamind is more marketable even if less creative… Anyway, Megamind still sounds good to me. The story revolves around a supervillain who unwillingly becomes the new acclaimed hero.
MEGAMIND
Here’s a first look at Megamind (Will Ferrell) and Metro Man (Brad Pitt):
(Click on the picture to enlarge it.)
Plot:
“When super villain Megamind (Will Ferrell) defeats his archrival Metro Man (Brad Pitt), the world should be his oyster. But instead, Megamind falls into total despair. It turns out that life without a rival is life without a purpose for him. So he creates a new superhero rival, Titan (Jonah Hill). Unfortunately for him and the world, the new hero wants to be a super villain too. The new villain begins his rampage, and Megamind sets out to stop him, beginning a path to redemption in the process.”
The movie Megamind is directed by Tom McGrath and it can boast the voices of Will Ferrell, Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill and Tina Fey. The release date of Megamind is set for November 5, 2010.

We got our hands on a series of preview clips of Alvin and the Chipmunks 2, aka Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakquel. The first two clips are definitely worth watching:
Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 – Secret Weapon
Alvin is becomes a key player in the football team.
Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 – Locker Reveal
Alvin and the Chipmunks meet the Chipettes near their lockers.
Plot:
“Because of a freak accident involving Alvin and Dave Seville, they go to live with Dave Seville’s cool cousin Toby and must enroll in school just like every other kid. School presents new challenges to these rock stars, like dealing with peer pressure, school sports and of course, girls!
By ‘girls’ we mean the Chipettes who are managed by Ian Hawke, the Chipmunks greedy former manager who wants to turn them into the next big thing. At the outset, there is a rivalry between the Chipettes and the Chipmunks but in the end they realize that they make great friends and a great musical team!”
This sequel to Alvin and the Chipmunks is going to be damn good! I wasn’t really fan of those squirrels until I see those two clips. Now, I’m completely hooked. And my kids won’t have to ask me twice to go watch Alvin and the Chipmunks 2!
Three more Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 clips below: Continue reading »
