They kind of oversell the film with those posters of Solomon Kane… I mean James Purefoy who’s got the lead role does not look as badass in the movie…

I still find hard to get much interested in this movie. I think it comes too late: we already had Van Helsing after all… What do you think after watching this trailer of Solomon Kane?

This movie adaptation of Solomon Kane probably comes too late to mesmerize us (we’ve seen too many movies on the same theme), but it doesn’t look too bad. And I’m confident it will be entertaining.

I have mixed feelings about this film: it doesn’t look bad, but I find hard to get really hooked by the whole thing… Right now, I wouldn’t spend a buck on this film… Well, let’s wait for a Solomon Kane trailer of better quality before deciding. High definition could spark some interest.

Actor James Purefoy got the lead role in Solomon Kane, an upcoming adventure fantasy movie based on the character of the same name created by Robert Howard. stars in the title role. The character Solomon Kane is described as a somber-looking man who wanders the world with no apparent goal other than to vanquish evil in all its forms. The movie is directed by Michael J. Bassett and is set for a release on October 28 in France, but no official release date announced yet for the USA.

Solomon Kane makes me think of a puritan version of Kwai Chang Kane set in the 16th century… And maybe because of his dark clothes I can but draw a comparison with Van Helsing… Well I don’t expect anything really new from this Solomon Kane movie…
