A new picture of Nicolas Cage as a sorcerer in the Sorcerer’s Apprentice, an upcoming fantasy movie directed by Jon Turteltaub:
Nicolas Cage may look good in his outfit, but not as good as Monica Bellucci who plays the role of a witch in the movie:
Plot of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice:
“A sorcerer (Nicolas Cage) recruits and trains a young protege (Jay Baruchel) to help him fight the forces of darkness in modern-day Manhattan.”
When Jon Tuteltaub and Nicolas Cage team up on a movie like the Sorcerer’s Apprentice, it’s probably going to be a blockbuster!
:)

Plot:
“A low-ranking intelligence operative (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) working in the office of the U.S. Ambassador in France takes on more than he bargained for when he partners with a wisecracking, fast-shooting, high-ranking U.S. agent (John Travolta) who’s been sent to Paris to stop a terrorist attack.”
The movie From Paris With Love is directed by Pierre Morel, the guy who brought us Taken, so we may expect a lot of action!
:)
A new trailer has been released for Kick-Ass, the upcoming action movie directed by Matthew Vaughn and based on the comic book series by Mark Millar:
KICK-ASS
Plot:
“Dave Lizewski is an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan who one day decides to become a super-hero, even though he has no powers, training or meaningful reason to do so.”
This trailer of Kick-Ass is but a hint of what to expect! A movie full of action with some sweet dark humor that will make you laugh out loud for sure!
The movie Kick-Ass is starring Nicolas Cage, Chloe Moretz, Mark Strong, Xander Berkeley and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. It will be released on April 16, 2010.
A movie trailer of Clash of the Titans, the upcoming remake movie directed by Louis Leterrier, has been released, and if you turn off the music, it looks rather quite good:
CLASH OF THE TITANS
Plot:
“A remake of the 1981 cult classic, the story revolves around Zeus’ son, Perseus, and his journey to save Princess Andromeda during which he must complete various tasks set out by Zeus, including capturing Pegasus and slaying Medusa.”
Thanks to Louis Leterrier, those mythic monsters comes to life again! Let’s hope that Perseus will be strong enough to defeat them!
The movie Clash of the Titans is starring Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Gemma Aterton. It will hit theaters on March 26, 2010.

Director Dwight H. Little has been working on Tekken, the live-action movie adaptation of the video game of the same name. The film Tekken is starring John Foo, Kelly Overton, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Ian Anthony Dale, Cung Le, Darrin Dewitt Henson, and Luke Goss. The film should be released in 2010. A first movie trailer of Tekken has been shown at the American Film Market, but it hasn’t been released online yet. But you may still take a look to those two teaser posters of Tekken:
Update: Movie trailer of Tekken now available!
TEKKEN
Plot:
“In the year of 2039, after World Wars destroy much of civilization as we know it, the remaining territories are no longer run by governments, but by corporations; the mightiest of which is the Mishima Zaibatsu. In order to keep the masses down, Mishima sponsors the King of Iron Fist Tournament, or Tekken, in which fighters battle until one is left standing, who in turn will receive a lifetime of stardom and wealth. We are introduced to this violent world through the eyes of Jin Kazama who enters the tournament in order to avenge the death of his mother that he blames upon the Mishima Zaibatsu’s most powerful and controlling chairman – Heihachi Mishima. He knows that the only way to get close enough to Mishima to kill him is to win the tournament, but in doing so, he begins to uncover his own past and inner demons as well as exposing a dark underbelly to Tekken that threatens the very existence of humanity.”
The cast includes many actors with real skills in martial arts, but I’m not sure it will be enough to convince the fans to go watch the movie…

Cotton is an upcoming horror movie directed by Daniel Stamm and produced by Eli Roth. The film is starring Patrick Fabian, Ashley Bell, Louis Herthum, Charles S. Dutton, Lisa Bonet, Ving Rhames, and Angus Sutherland. It is filmed in the style of Parnormal Atcivity and Cloverfield (shaky cam…). The movie Cotton should be released in 2010.
Here below the first official movie poster of Cotton:
Plot:
“Disillusioned by years of defrauding poor believes of their hard-earned cash, evangelical preacher Cotton Marcus decides to put the record straight by producing a spectacular documentary.
A letter from Louis, a poor farmer begging for Cotton’s help in driving the devil off his land, gives Cotton the perfect opportunity to expose the phoniness of his ministry. But then he meets Louis’ disturbed young daughter, Nell..”
Here’s what Eli Roth says about the movie Cotton:
A mix between the shaky cam documentary concept and The Exorcist! Sounds like a great idea: the movie Cotton is gonna be a damn scary movie!

According to The Wall Street Journal a Micronauts movie could be produced by JJ Abrams, the man who successfully rebooted Star Trek! The Micronauts is the North American name for the Microman toy line created by Japanese toy company Takara (the rights now belong to Hasbro). A comic book based on the toy line was also published by Marvel.
Here’s the original mythology of the Micronauts:
“The Micronauts originate in the Microverse, a microscopic series of diverse habitats that are linked together in the fashion of molecule chains. The original team comes together in response to the threat posed by former academic and now murderous dictator, Baron Karza. Commander Arcturus Rann (returning from a thousand-year deep space voyage in suspended animation) and Biotron, his robot co-pilot, return on the HMS (Homeworld Micro Ship) ‘Endeavor’, to discover Karza has slain the royal family, who are in fact Rann’s parents. What follows is an epic war across the Microverse: Rann and his allies against Karza.
At one point the team is somehow trapped for a time on Earth (where they are the size of toys) before retuning to the Microverse.”
And here’s a clip that shows off the Micronauts toy line:
I suppose that if the Micronauts movie really goes under development, they will focus on the part with the Micronauts trapped on Earth. I’m not sure this movie will be as exciting as Transformers though… Micro robots aren’t as impressive as giants robots… But with JJ Abrams producing the Micronauts movie we may expect to be positively surprised!
;-P
Thanks to Entertainment Tonight we get to see some footage of Extraordinary Measures, plus an interview of Brendan Fraser about the movie. Here’s the clip of Extraordinary Measures:
Extraordinary Measures Clip
Plot:
“A drama centered on the efforts of John and Aileen Crowley to find a researcher who might have a cure for their two children’s rare genetic disorder.”
Science is not evil: can’t tell as much about those religious bigots who, under the cover of religion, want to hinder scientists from helping people suffering from genetic disorders… God bless our scientists, those who really contribute to make our world better!
;)
A fourth Jurassic Park movie could be ahead of us. Director Joe Johnston has been talking indeed about the possibility of a Jurassic Park 4. Here’s what he said:
[..]
Why would anybody go back to that island? It was hard enough to figure out the second and third reason for them to go, but it would take it off in a whole other trilogy basically, but when it gets to that level it’s sort of about studios and Steven Spielberg’s thing and who knows. I think we are at that point where we are due for another one if we are going to do it.”
What do you think could be the plot of Jurassic Park 4? Nasty intelligent mini-dinosaurs that would try to become our new overlords? Any guess?
