There’s a new movie trailer of The Road, the upcoming post-apocalyptic movie directed by John Hillcoat based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy. You may watch this second trailer of The road below:

THE ROAD
Plot:
“An unnamed father (Mortensen) and his young son (Smit-McPhee) struggle to survive after an unspecified apocalypse and make their way toward the coast for possible food, shelter, safety, or to potentially find other survivors of the cataclysmic events. Along the way, they encounter grave struggles and hardships across the barren landscapes, with scarce shelter and resources available to them, and having to avoid bands of cannibals and other desperate gangs looking to pillage valuables and food. Various flashback sequences occur where the Man remembers events prior to the catastrophe, many involving his deceased wife, who has a much more expanded role in the film than in the original book.”

Cast:
– Viggo Mortensen as the Man.
– Kodi Smit-McPhee as the Boy.
– Charlize Theron as the Wife, who appears in flashback.
– Michael K. Williams as a thief.
– Guy Pearce as a father wandering with his family.
– Robert Duvall as an old, dying man.

I read the book, and even if I feel like the world was darker in Cormac McCarthy’s book, I still think that John Hillcoat’s The Road is a faithful adaptation. I’m quite impatient to watch The Road!

This gorilla reminds me of Frank Herbert’s chairdog: a chair that is alive and partly sentient, it shapes itself to the person sitting in it.

Scriptwriter Etan Cohen (who once brought us Tropic Thunder, Idiocracy) has been hired by Sony to pen the screenplay of Men In Black 3.

So, even if it hasn’t been confirmed yet that Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are reprising their roles, we’re still one step closer from the production MiB3.

J.J. Abrams had to cut a few scenes from his take on Star Trek. Fortunately we will be able to watch those scenes when the film will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on November 17, 2009. Meanwhile, just to tease us, here’s the deleted scene of Star Trek in which Nero is interrogated by a masked Klingon:

The first Sin City movie has become cult and fans have been yearning for a Sin City movie sequel. Well, according to producer Stephen L’Heureux the movie Sin City 2 will go into production in the second half of 2010. This new sequel would be based on an original script written by Frank Miller and, like for the first movie, it would be co-directed by Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez.
