SGU, Stargate Universe, is the latest addition to the Stargate franchise: the new show will start to air on SyFy this summer. A SGU trailer was shown after the final episode of Battlestar Galactica last Friday:
“Stargate Universe aims to delight veteran fans, but also appeal to newcomers who may not necessarily know the difference between an Alteran and an Asuran. In many ways it is a much more cerebral and mature addition to the franchise. While firmly entrenched in pre-established Stargate mythology, Stargate Universe definitely strikes out in an exciting new direction.”
Stargate Atlantis producer Joseph Mallozzi
I expect Stargate Universe to be a mix of Farscape and BSG set in the realm of Stargate. Could be something explosive, hope they won’t disappoint us!

Skynet and its Terminators want to annihilate mankind. But we won’t give them a free reign. Like on this latest movie poster of Terminator Salvation, showing a man (probably John Connor) carrying a Terminator head in his hand:
Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) are still at odds over a few issues after five years. Even Toretto’s sister bears a grudge against O’Conner. Just watch this new movie clip of Fast and Furious:
After Five Years
Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) tries to warn off Mia (Jordana Brewster) and apologize for the past.
U-Turn If Possible
Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) won’t let running out of road stop him from chasing Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel).

On a side note I’m glad to see a scientist as the hero of a movie. Let’s hope that many kids will get inspired and will become scientist too later on: our country is definitely in need of brilliant scientists!

Ben Affleck and Russell Crowe are starring in State of Play, an upcoming dramatic crime thriller movie directed by Kevin Macdonald. The story revolves around a journalist (Russel Crowe) who unveils a conspiracy while investigating the murder of the mistress of a congressman (Ben Affleck). Here below a new international trailer of State of Play:
STATE of PLAY
Behind the story the truth lies
But the conspiracy goes higher.
This new State of Play trailer gives a more appealing overview of the movie. I especially like the scene showing both Crowe and Affleck: they are like an old dude and a young wolf.
State of Play hits theaters on on April 17, 2009.

A new movie poster has been released for the upcoming sci-fi animated movie Battle for Terra. The new poster features an alien spaceship firing on the locals. Well hope you’re not cursing the alien spaceship because one of your grandchildren could be piloting it!
BATTLE FOR TERRA
Their World is mankind’s only hope for survival.
Indeed in Battle for Terra Manking is on the verge of extinction: the only hope is to take over the planet Terra which is already inhabited by an other sentient species…
Well survival of our grandchildren first! Let’s wipe out those Terrans!
;-P
I like those interviews made on movie sets: they’re much more natural and telling than the artificial promo interview given just before the final release.
Robert Downey Jr. is giving an interesting point of view regarding the controversy there could be around Guy Ritchie’s modern take on Sherlock Holmes:
“The reinvention [of Sherlock Holmes] is actually a return to the idiosyncrasy that Conan Doyle had in his books that people hadn’t really pay much attention to.”
Robert Downey Jr.
The movie Sherlock Holmes will be released on Christmas 2009. I’ll have to encourage my kids to read a few Sherlock Holmes book by then!
