Plot synopsis:
“After he’s grounded by an injury, a high-flying bachelor is saddled with two wide-eyed orphans as they come face-to-face with the dangers and beauty of the outside world in this funny and touching animated feature, “Duck Duck Goose”. Our free-wheeling hero, Peng (Jim Gaffigan), rejects the community of his tight-knit flock of geese in an attempt to live life on his own terms. But after he narrowly rescues two young ducklings, Chi and Chao (Zendaya and Lance Lim), from an eccentric but deadly cat named Banzou (Greg Proops), the two latch onto the Goose like a parent; and with a paralyzing winter on the horizon and the departure of both their flocks, Peng agrees to look after the ducklings out of fear his injury might be discovered by Banzou, and other predators who would prey on a goose who cannot fly. The makeshift trio embarks on a beautiful and dangerous journey through mountains and lakes, bamboo forests, marble caves and deep river valleys to reach their respective flocks. On the way, Peng must learn to care for the two ducklings despite his independent attitude, all the while evading the hungry and relentless Banzou, who’ll stop at nothing to claim the ducklings he feels entitled to.”

Dune Movie

Dune MovieThere’s a new movie adaptation of Dune, the cult epic science-fiction novel series written Frank Herbet and his son Brian Herbet, ahead of us! Legendary Pictures bought the film rights a few months ago. And they just announced that Director Denis Villeneuve (who helmed Sicario, Arrival, and Blade Runner 2049) will be in charge of the project.

I’m fond of the book series. But I think the 1984 movie adaptation, though entertaining, didn’t do justice to the series, so I definitely welcome this new adaptation! Let’s hope the film won’t disappoint.

The film has yet to get an official release date.

Galveston Movie

(Click on the poster to enlarge.)

Galveston Movie Teaser Poster
GALVESTON

No past. No future. Nothing to lose.

A crime thriller from the creator of True Detective.

Plot synopsis:
“Adapted by Nic Pizzolatto (creator of HBO’s True Detective) from his best-selling novel, Galveston is a gripping human thriller fueled by hair-trigger tension.
Debt Collector and sometime-killer Roy (Ben Foster) senses that his boss, a dangerous, violent and pitiless loan-shark, wants him dead, and his next routine assignment is indeed a death-trap. Yet what the would-be killers do to Roy is not the same as what he does to them…after a smoking spasm of violence, they are mostly dead and he is just about alive. Before making his getaway, Roy discovers young prostitute Rocky (Elle Fanning) hiding in the back room, and he sees something in her frightened, defiant eyes that prompts a fateful decision. He takes her with him as he flees New Orleans to Galveston—an action as ill-advised as it is inescapable. Rocky is too young, too tough, too sexy – and far too much trouble, especially when she makes a detour to liberate her 3 year old sister from the clutches of their seedy step-father. Like the smoke dancing upwards from a barrel of a gun, there’s no way things are going to end well.
This fragile trio hides in the battered seascape of Galveston’s country-western bars and fleabag motels, a world of treacherous drifters, rusting pickup trucks, and worn-out dreams. Any chance of a safe haven is soon lost. Rocky is a girl with secrets to hide, one that will pursue and damage Roy for a very long time to come in this powerful and atmospheric film noir.
Mélanie Laurent directs this incandescent vision of lost souls and redemption. Beautiful in its honesty; Galveston is an elegy to the broken and the damned.”

Shooting should start this February. Let’s hope the movie Galveston will be as lyrical its plot synopsis!

The film has yet to get an official release date.

Stay tuned with us for more details about the movie.
