Silence Movie directed by Martin Scorsese

Director Martin Scorsese is set to work on Silence, an upcoming drama history movie set in seventeenth century Japan. The film is based on a novel by Japanese Author ShĂ»saku EndĂ´. Here’s the plot synopsis:

Plot:
“In the seventeenth century, two Jesuit priests face violence and persecution when they travel to Japan to locate their mentor and to spread the gospel of Christianity. But under the Tokugawa shogunate, Catholicism and almost all foreign contact has been banned. There they witness the persecution of Japanese Christians at the hands of their own government which wishes to purge Japan of all western influence. Eventually the priests separate and Rodrigues travels the countryside, wondering why God remains silent while His children suffer.”

So far the cast includes:
– Liam Neeson as Father Ferreira
– Andrew Garfield as Father Rodrigues
– Adam Driver as Father Francisco Garrpe
– Ken Watanabe as Kichijiro

This isn’t the first movie adaptation. The novel was actually first adapted into a movie in 1971 by Masahiro Shinoda. But am curious to see Martin Scorsese’s take on ShĂ»saku EndĂ´’s novel.

The film has yet to get an official release date. But it should be released sometime in 2015.

2 New Posters of And So It Goes

Just two new posters of And So It Goes, the upcoming comedy movie directed by Rob Reiner and starring Michael Douglas, Diane Keaton, and Sterling Jerins:

(Click on a poster to enlarge.)

Poster removed –

Plot:
“There are a million reasons not to like realtor Oren Little (Michael Douglas), and that’s just the way he likes it. Willfully obnoxious to anyone who might cross his path, he wants nothing more than to sell one last house and retire in peace and quiet — until his estranged son suddenly drops off a granddaughter (Sterling Jerins) he never knew existed and turns his life upside-down. Clueless about how to care for a sweet, abandoned nine-year-old, he pawns her off on his determined and lovable neighbor Leah (Diane Keaton) and tries to resume his life uninterrupted. But little by little, Oren stubbornly learns to open his heart – to his family, to Leah, and to life itself.”

Michael Douglas and Diane Keaton would make for a lovely couple in real life!

Dolphin Tale 2 – 2 dolphins, a pelican and a turtle

We’ve got our hands on two new posters of Dolphin Tale 2, the upcoming family drama movie written and directed by Charles Martin Smith:

(Click on a poster to enlarge.)

Plot:
“The team of people who saved the dolphin Winter reassemble in the wake of her surrogate mother’s passing in order to find her a companion so she can remain at the Clearwater Marine Hospital.”

The two dolphins (Winter and Hope) are cute, but I’d rather watch a movie about that pelican (Rufus) and the turtle (Mavis)! They’re going to steal the show!

Pixels Movie starring Adam Sandler

A first picture of Pixels, the upcoming adventure comedy movie directed by Chris Columbus and starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Michelle Monaghan, Josh Gad, Peter Dinklage, Brian Cox, and Ashley Benson:

Pixels Trailer

(Click on the picture to enlarge.)

Plot:
“When aliens misinterpret video-feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war against them, they attack the Earth, using the games as models for their various assaults. President Will Cooper (Kevin James) has to call on his childhood best friend, ’80s video game champion Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler), now a home theater installer, to lead a team of old-school arcaders (Josh Gad, Peter Dinklage) to defeat the aliens and save the planet.”

The plot synopsis sounds a bit dumb, but since Adam Sandler in involved it’s not surprising… But at least we know it’s going to be a funny movie!

But every silver lining has a cloud, and Zach’s comes when he learns that Hannah has a mysterious dad who is revealed to be R. L. Stine (Jack Black), the author of the bestselling Goosebumps series. It turns out that there is a reason why Stine is so strange… he is a prisoner of his own imagination – the monsters that his books made famous are real, and Stine protects his readers by keeping them locked up in their books. When Zach unintentionally unleashes the monsters from their manuscripts and they begin to terrorize the town, it’s suddenly up to Stine, Zach, and Hannah to get all of them back in the books where they belong.”
