Actress Carey Mulligan has been spotted on the set of Suffragette, the upcoming period drama movie directed by Sarah Gavron based on a script by Abi Morgan:
“The foot soldiers of the early feminist movement, women who were forced underground to pursue a dangerous game of cat and mouse with an increasingly brutal State.”
Besides Carey Mulligan, the cast also includes Helena Bonham Carter, Meryl Streep, Ben Whishaw, Brendan Gleeson, Romola Garai, Anne-Marie Duff, and Samuel West.
For those who haven’t heard about the suffragettes:
Suffragettes were members of women’s organization (right to vote) movements in the late 19th and early 20th century, particularly in the United Kingdom and United States.
The film should be released sometime in 2014.
