Trailer of The Railway Man starring Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman

Here’s the first official movie trailer of The Railway Man, the upcoming drama movie directed by Jonathan Teplitzky and starring Colin Firth, Nicole Kidman, Hiroyuki Sanada, Jeremy Irvine, and Tanroh Ishida:

THE RAILWAY MAN
Plot:
“During World War II, Eric Lomax (Colin Firth / Jeremy Irvine) is a British officer who is captured by the Japanese in Singapore and sent to a POW camp, where he is forced to work on the Thai-Burma Railway. During his time in the camp he is tortured by an officer and meets a fellow POW (Ben Rossberg).
Years later, and still suffering the psychological trauma of his wartime experiences, Lomax is persuaded by his wife Patti to find and confront one of his captors. Accompanied by his best friend (Stellan Skarsgard), Lomax returns to the scene of his torture and manages to track down his captor, Japanese officer Takashi Nagase (Hiroyuki Sanada / Tanroh Ishida), from the prison camp, ‘in an attempt let go of a lifetime of bitterness and hate’.

War is no game, better live in time of peace!

The film is based on the autobiography of the same name by Eric Lomax, British Army officer who was sent to a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp in 1942.

The release date of The Railway Man is set to January 3, 2014 (UK Release).
