Into The Woods – Meryl Streep ventures into the woods as the witch who wishes to reverse a curse so that her beauty may be restored.

And here’s the official plot synopsis:

Plot:
“Into the Woods is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. This humorous and heartfelt musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel—all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch who has put a curse on them.”

About the cast:
– Meryl Streep as the witch
– Emily Blunt as the baker’s wife
– James Corden plays the baker
– Anna Kendrick plays Cinderella
– Chris Pine plays Cinderella’s Prince
– Johnny Depp plays the big bad wolf
– and Lilla Crawford plays Little Red Riding Hood

I can hardly recognize Meryl Streep with that make-up! Can’t wait to see her performance, I’m sure she will nail it! Plus there’s Johnny Depp, so the film will definitely be a must see!

The release date of Into The Woods is set to December 25, 2014.

Plot:
“The story of “Cinderella” follows the fortunes of young Ella whose merchant father remarries following the tragic death of her mother. Keen to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new stepmother Lady Tremaine and her daughters Anastasia and Drisella into the family home. But, when Ella’s father suddenly and unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family. Finally relegated to nothing more than a servant girl covered in ashes, and spitefully renamed Cinderella, Ella could easily begin to lose hope. Yet, despite the cruelty inflicted upon her, Ella is determined to honor her mother’s dying words and to “have courage and be kind.” She will not give in to despair nor despise those who abuse her. And then there is the dashing stranger she meets in the woods. Unaware that he is really a prince, not merely an employee at the Palace, Ella finally feels she has met a kindred soul. It appears as if her fortunes may be about to change when the Palace sends out an open invitation for all maidens to attend a ball, raising Ella’s hopes of once again encountering the charming “Kit.” Alas, her stepmother forbids her to attend and callously rips apart her dress. But, as in all good fairy tales, help is at hand as a kindly beggar woman steps forward and, armed with a pumpkin and a few mice, changes Cinderella’s life forever.”

The story will largely follows Disney’s 1950 cartoon adaptation, but we may expect a few twists…

Ben Affleck is the new Batman! – Batman vs Superman – Man of Steel 2

Warner Bros has officially announced that Actor Ben Affleck is taking over the role of Bruce Wayne aka Batman in the upcoming superhero movie that’s set to pit Superman against Batman! Director Zack Snyder is in charge of the project which is being scripted by David S. Goyer from a story he co-created with Zack Snyder. The film is a sequel to Man of Steel. There’s no official title yet, possibly “Batman vs Superman”.

Ben Affleck will star opposite Henry Cavill, who is reprising his role as Clark Kent aka Superman.

A few words from Director Zack Snyder about Ben Affleck:

“Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry Cavill’s Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can’t wait to work with him.”

Director Zack Snyder

Since they’re going for a “mature” actor, the film will likely be inspired by Part 2 of “The Dark Knight Returns”, watch the trailer below:

Are you glad to hear about Ben Affleck being cast as Batman? Share your thoughts below!

Production should start in 2014 and they’re hoping for a release in Summer 2015.
