Plot:
“Set in the year 2159, where the very wealthy live on a man-made space station while the rest of the population resides on a ruined Earth, a man takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarized worlds.”

Actress Jodie Foster plays the role of Secretary Rhodes, a government official, hellbent on enforcing anti-immigration laws and keeping the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. So she’s playing a Republican?

Sounds like the Warcraft movie that fans of World of Warcraft have been hoping for will finally enter production. According to the Hollywood Reporter Director Duncan Jones (who helmed Moon and Source Code, and who also happens to be David Bowie’s son) is indeed set to helm the project (Sam Raimi was once attached to the movie adaptation) for Legendary and Blizzard.

I think Duncan Jones is a great pick. He proved his talent already. Besides he’s a real gamer and will respect the game the film is based on.

The script is written by Charles Leavitt. The plot hasn’t been revealed yet. They’re eyeing a 2015 release.

Here’s a first official picture of Only Lovers Left Alive, an upcoming vampire drama movie written and directed by Jim Jarmusch:

Plot:
“Adam (Tom Hiddleston), an underground musician, deeply depressed by the direction of human activities, reunites with his resilient and enigmatic lover, Eve (Tilda Swinton). Their love story has already endured several centuries at least, but their idyll is soon interrupted by Eve’s wild and uncontrollable younger sister, Ava (Mia Wasikowska).”

Those blase looking vampires are obviously indoors, but they’re still wearing sunglasses…

The film is starring Tilda Swinton, Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska, Anton Yelchin, John Hurt and Slimane Dazi. There’s no official release date yet.

Director Bryan Singer is working on X-men Days of Future Past, the sequel to X-men First Class (Matthew Vaughn whohelmed the first film is still involved as screenwriter). He shared this picture via his twitter account:

Director J.J. Abrams (the man behind blockbusters like Cloverfield, Mission Impossible 3, Super 8 and wrote and produced countless of other awesome movies and TV shows) has been hired to helm Star Wars 7!

“The film is supposed to be a sequel to Star Wars Episode 6 and would bring the Skywalker family to the fore (featuring appearances of Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher as they reprise their respective roles) and introduce a new generation of heroes.”

I do dig what J.J. Abrams did with the Star Trek franchise, so I’m glad to hear that he’s now taking over the Star Wars franchise too.

A perpetual-motion engine? An engine that can run indefinitely without any external source of energy? Unlikely in practice because of friction. But I guess we could one day create a machine that comes close to it.

Disney has announced the release date of Pirates of the Caribbean 5.: the film is scheduled to hit theaters on July 10, 2015.

There’s also a new scriptwriter on board: Jeff Nathanson, who wrote Catch Me if You Can. He has been hired to work on the script of Pirates of the Caribbean 5. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer is still attached to the franchise. And Actor johnny Depp will reprise his role as Captain jack Sparrow.

Where do you think Jack Sparrow will sail to this time around? So far he’s been to the Caribbean, Asia, and Europe. What’s next: South or North America, or maybe Africa, or possibly India?
