Gnomeo and Juliet Movie
In the upcoming movie Gnomeo & Juliet, Shakespeare’s revered story gets a comic make-over:the film is indeed based on the greatest love story ever told… but with garden gnomes. Director Kelly Asbury (who co-directed Shrek 2) is helming the project and James McAvoy and Emily Blunt are lending their voices to the two lead characters Gnomeo and Juliet.

Fast and Furious 5 Plot
The official synopsis of Fast and Furious 5, aka Fast Five, has been revealed:
Plot:
“Since Brian (Paul Walker) and Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster) broke Dom (Vin Diesel) out of custody, they’ve blown across many borders to elude authorities. Now backed into a corner in Rio de Janeiro, they must pull one last job in order to gain their freedom. As they assemble their elite team of top racers, the unlikely allies know their only shot of getting out for good means confronting the corrupt businessman who wants them dead. But he’s not the only one on their tail.
Hard-nosed federal agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) never misses his target. When he is assigned to track down Dom and Brian, he and his strike team launch an all-out assault to capture them. But as his men tear through Brazil, Hobbs learns he can’t separate the good guys from the bad. Now, he must rely on his instincts to corner his prey…before someone else runs them down first.”
Directed by Justin Lin, the movie Fast and Furious 5 is starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Matt Schulze, Tego Calderon, Don Omar, Elsa Pataky, Joaquim de Almeida and Dwayne Johnson. Fast and Furious 5 will hit theaters on June 10, 2011.

Blitz Movie
Actors Jason Statham and Paddy Considine team up for the movie Blitz, an upcoming thriller directed by Elliott Lester. The story revolves around of a tough cop is dispatched to take down a serial killer who has been targeting police officers. “The South East London police squad are down and out: Detective Sergeant Brant (Jason Statham) is in hot water for assaulting a police shrink, Chief Inspector Roberts’ wife has died in a horrific car accident, and WPC Falls is still figuring out how to navigate her job as a black female investigator in the notorious unit. When a serial killer takes his show on the road, things get worse for all three. Nicknamed ‘The Blitz’ by the rabid London media, the killer is aiming for tabloid immortality by killing cops in different beats around the city.”
The movie Blitz is based on Ken Bruen’s novel of the name. There’s no official release date yet.

Glad to hear that Melissa Rosenberg and Director Bill Condon get along well. And it sounds like they intend to be faithful as possible to Stephenie Meyer’s novel.

Oblivion Script
Scriptwriter William Monahan (who wrote the script of The Departed) has been hired by Disney to pen the screenplay of Joseph Kosinski’s Oblivion.
Plot:
“In a future where the Earth’s surface has been irradiated beyond recognition, the remnants of humanity live above the clouds, safe from the brutal alien Scavengers that stalk the ruins. But when surface drone repairman Jak discovers a mysterious woman in a crash-landed pod, it sets off an unstoppable chain of events that will force him to question everything he knows.”
There’s no official release date yet for the movie Oblivion, but a gorgeous graphic novel is set to be published in November.

Brave Movie
Pixar are working on Brave (previously titled the Bear and the Bow), their first fairy tale movie. Director Brenda Chapman (who once brought us The Prince of Egypt) is helming the project. Here below a concept art and a logo of the movie Brave:
