Update – Natalie Portman is replacing Ronney Mara in the lead role.

Rooney Mara is set to star in Vox Lux, an upcoming musical drama movie written and directed by Brady Corbet. Here’s the film’s synopsis:

Plot synopsis:
“The film drama follows Celeste (Rooney Mara), who becomes one of the world’s pop superstars after surviving a life changing event. Her 15-year journey of success & travails, embodies and reflects upon key contemporary events. With Original Music By Songwriter-singer Sia.”

So far besides Rooney Mara the cast also includes Jude Law and Stacy Martin.
