2 Clips of Richard Linkslater’s Boyhood

I’ve just spotted those two preview clips the upcoming drama movie written and directed by Richard Linkslater and starring Ethan Hawke, Patricia Arquette, Ellar Coltrane and Lorelei Linklater:

Boyhood – Goodbye!

Boyhood – talk to me!
Plot:
“Filmed over 12 years with the same cast, Richard Linklater’s BOYHOOD is a groundbreaking story of growing up as seen through the eyes of a child named Mason (a great performance by Ellar Coltrane), who literally grows up on screen before our eyes.”

Those kids are great, they really bring life to this film! Ethan Hawke’s performance just highlights theirs!

The Calling Movie Trailer

Here’s the official trailer of The Calling, the upcoming thriller movie directed by Jason Stone and based on the novel by Inger Ash Wolfe:

THE CALLING
Plot:
“Detective Hazel Micallef (Susan Sarandon) hasn’t had much to worry about in the sleepy town of Port Dundas until a string of gruesome murders in the surrounding countryside brings her face to face with a serial killer driven by a higher calling.”

Looks like a rather generic thriller movie… But am willing to give it a try, it’s starring Susan Sarandon after all!

Besides Susan Sarandon, the cast also includes Topher Grace, Donald Sutherland, Gil Bellows, and Ellen Burstyn.

There’s no official release date yet.

Trailer and Poster of Young Ones

Let’s watch the official trailer of Young Ones, the upcoming science-fiction movie written and directed by Jake Paltrow and starring Michael Shannon, Nicholas Hoult, Elle Fanning, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Aimee Mullins:

YOUNG ONES
Plot:
“Set in the future when water is hard to find a teenage boy sets out to protect his family and survive.
Ernest Holm (Michael Shannon) lives on this harsh frontier with his children, Jerome (Kodi Smit-McPhee) and Mary (Elle Fanning). He defends his farm from bandits, works the supply routes, and hopes to rejuvenate the soil. But Mary’s boyfriend, Flem Lever (Nicholas Hoult), has grander designs. He wants Ernest’s land for himself, and will go to any length to get it. ”

We also have two official posters:

(Click on a poster to enlarge.)

YOUNG ONES

Not all children have a childhood.

Love the trailer, am definitely hooked and I want to see the whole thing. But the post-apoclayptic world of this film is based on “fake” science… Water can’t vanish like that from the whole world… It has to go somewhere (maybe it’s salty?). And let’s not forget that scarcity increases an item’s relative price based upon its relatively low supply. So instead of working for facebook or snapchat our engineers would have a real incentive to work on water-related issues (like desalination for example) to keep the liquid flowing.

The film has yet to get an official release date. But I heard it could possibly get released sometime in October 2014.

EXODUS GODS AND KINGS
Plot:
“The film retells the biblical story of Moses, who, according to the book of Exodus, suffered near death during infancy, was adopted into the Egyptian royal family, defied the Pharoah, freed the Hebrews and parted the Red Sea.”

I’ve to admit Ridley Scott’s take on Moses does looks appealing!

REACH ME
Plot:
“A comedy/drama centered on a group of people who all have a connection to a self-help book authored by a reclusive former football coach.”

Not sure what to think of this film… And why is Sylvester Stallone starring in it? I’d rather watch him in The Expendables 3!

Guardians of the Galaxy – Go beyond the ordinary vacation destinations of Earth!

Their sales pitch:

“Hawaii, Tahiti, the Bahamas, some of the most beautiful destinations on Earth look like shit compared to the rest of the galaxy. How do we know because we’ve been there and done that!”
