Scriptwriters Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are working on the script of Star Trek 2, and of course they keep the plot secret and aren’t telling much. the But it won’t hinder Star Trek fans from asking for plot details of Star Trek 2. Lucky us, they did give a few – vague – details during a recent Star Trek Q&A:

Those two scriptwriters really want to drive the Trekkies crazy! Come on, can’t they give better hints at who’s gonna be the villain in Star trek 2?
Hmm, actually I think they did give away something: they’re kind of saying that it can’t be Khan because it would be a remake, so keeping in mind that the Klingons were introduced in a deleted scene (available on the Blu-Ray of the first film, you may watch it –>here), I’d say that the next villain will most probably be the Klingons!

The movie release of Star Trek 2 is tentatively set for June 29, 2012. Paramount wants indeed to have its share of the Summer 2012 blockbuster season.

Star Trek 2 Release Date

The cast from the first movie (Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, and Zoe Saldana) will be back. Not sure yet if Leonard Nimoy(or even William Shatner this time) will show up though.

Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman are currently working on the script of Star Trek 2, and nothing has leaked yet. But there is this deleted scene from the first movie:

Zoe Saldana told to MTV that Star trek 2, the movie sequel to Star Trek, would go into pre-production in fall or winter 2010:

Still no word about the plot of Star Trek 2… Against what enemy will Captain Kirk and the crew of the starship USS Enterprise will have to face off this time?

J.J. Abrams had to cut a few scenes from his take on Star Trek. Fortunately we will be able to watch those scenes when the film will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on November 17, 2009. It sounds like like Orci feels he has more freedom than before thanks to the success of the first film. Good then! because I definitely want him and Alex Kurtzman to explore their own take on the Star trek franchise!

I definitely accept to say goodbye to grandfather’s Star Trek. I hope that the movie Star Trek 2 will keep rejuvenating the show canons and boldly go beyond!

Paramount, confident in the success of JJ Abrams’ Star Trek movie, is already thinking about a movie sequel to Star Trek. Well, Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof have been hired to write the script of the movie Star Trek 2.
