Ain’t Them Bodies Saints Movie Trailer

Let’s watch the first official movie trailer of Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, the upcoming drama movie written and directed by David Lowery:

AIN’T THEM BODIES SAINTS
Plot:
“Bob Muldoon (Casey Affleck) and Ruth Guthrie (Rooney Mara), an impassioned young outlaw couple on an extended crime spree, are finally apprehended by lawmen after a shootout in the Texas hills. Although Ruth wounds a local officer, Bob takes the blame. But four years later, Bob escapes from prison and sets out to find Ruth and their daughter, born during his incarceration. Set against the backdrop of 1970′ s Texas Hill Country, director David Lowery paints a poetic picture, evoking the mythology of westerns and saturating the dramatic space with an aching sense of loss. Featuring powerful performances by Affleck, Mara as well as Ben Foster and Keith Carradine, AIN’ T THEM BODIES SAINTS is a story of love, motherhood and searching for peace while faced with an unrelenting past.”

Ain’t Them Bodies Saints looks like a solid movie! Definitely a must see!

Despicable Me 2 – Evil minions!

The minions, Gru’s little yellow assistants, are really cute. So cute, that they kind of steal the show in the first film and we can expect as much in the sequel Despicable Me 2. “Gru is recruited by the Anti-Villain League to help deal with a powerful new super criminal.”

Poster of The Purge written and directed by James DeMonaco

I just spotted this new poster of The Purge, the upcoming thriller horror movie written and directed by James DeMonaco and starring Ethan Hawke:

(Click on the poster to enlarge.)

THE PURGE

REMINDER: All emergency services will be suspended for a 12-hour period.

Plot:
“In an America wracked by escalating crime and overcrowded prisons, the government has sanctioned an annual 12-hour period in which any and all criminal activity—including murder—becomes legal. The police can’t be called. Hospitals suspend help. It’s one night when the citizenry regulates itself without thought of punishment. On this night plagued by violence and an epidemic of crime, one family wrestles with the decision of who they will become when a stranger comes knocking.
In The Purge, a speculative thriller that follows one family over the course of a single night, four people will be tested to see how far they will go to protect themselves when the vicious outside world breaks into their home.
When James (Training Day’s and Sinister’s ETHAN HAWKE) and Mary Sandin (Game of Thrones’ LENA HEADEY) discover that an intruder (Cougar Town’s EDWIN HODGE) has broken into their gated community during the yearly lockdown, thus begins a sequence of events that threatens to tear their family apart.
Now, it is up to James, Mary and their children—14-year-old Charlie (Parenthood’s MAX BURKHOLDER) and 16-year-old Zoey (Teen Wolf’s ADELAIDE KANE)—to make it through the night without turning into the monsters from whom they hide.”

James DeMonaco was inspired to draft The Purge after a couple of unexpected events put his creative process in motion. Most significantly, the idea for the story was sown when he and his wife were almost killed by a reckless driver. DeMonaco recalls:

“In a fit of terrible road rage, I had gotten out of the car to argue with this guy, and my wife pulled me back. When we got back in, she turned to me and said, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if we all had one free one a year?’ I thought that was such a dark thing to say, especially for a doctor. But it stayed with me for a very long time.”

Director James DeMonaco
