Trailer and Poster of The Interview starring Seth Rogen and James Franco

Seth Rogen and James Franco are teaming up again for The Interview, an upcoming comedy movie directed by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen. Here’s the first official trailer of The Interview:

THE INTERVIEW
Plot:
“In the action-comedy The Interview, Dave Skylark (James Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) run the popular celebrity tabloid TV show ‘Skylark Tonight’. When they discover that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is a fan of the show, they land an interview with him in an attempt to legitimize themselves as journalists. As Dave and Aaron prepare to travel to Pyongyang, their plans change when the CIA recruits them, perhaps the two least-qualified men imaginable, to assassinate Kim Jong-un.”

There’s also a poster inspired by North Korean propaganda:

(Click on the poster to enlarge.)

Am not sure killing Kim Jong-un would really help… Some other power-hungry chap would just take over… The real hope is that the lure of modern technology (mobile phones and Internet) and a sure yearning for wealth will push a privileged class of apparatchiks to ask to open up the country. Actually it’s already happening albeit slowly.

The release date of The Interview is set to October 10, 2014.
