Byun Hun Lee Storm Shadow
A new GI Joe poster featuring South-Korean Actor Byun Hun Lee as Storm Shadow in the upcoming GI Joe movie:
He’s too handsome to play a villain, and from what I saw in the previous preview clip of GI Joe, he cant’ be compared to Ray Park who’s playing Snake Eyes, Byun Hun Lee isn’t badass enough…
;-P
GI Joe Snake Eyes Clip
GI Joe 2 Movie
Director Stephen Sommers composedly announced that there will be a movie sequel to GI joe during a conference in Australia. I guess it’s good news because the first movie is actually setting things for something much better ahead. From the tidbits that leaked online we know indeed that the upcoming GI Joe Rise of Cobra movie is a kind of Origins story for Cobra Commander.
GI Joe 2 – GI Joe Movie Sequel
At the beginning of the GI Joe movie Cobra Commander (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is actually called the Doctor. He’s working for James McCullen who’s a the head of the powerful company MARS.
But at the end the Doctor becomes the Cobra Commander we know, an evil genius all powerful and damn Machiavellian, and James McCullen can but step down to become Cobra’s minion under the name of Destro (Cobra gifts him with a mask made of nanocytes).
The yet-to-be-released GI Joe is suffering from some bad buzz online, can understand this by looking at the poor CGI of the exoskeletons… But I guess it won’t hinder GI Joe from being a blockbuster: lot of action, plenty of special effects, and the whole thing based on a famous franchise, you bet people are going to watch it in theaters. I know I will! Can’t miss that!
But I’m much more thrilled by GI Joe 2! The origins of Cobra are maybe interesting but what I want, and I guess GI Joe fans too, is to see a full-fledged Cobra Army with its mighty Machiavellian commander at its head.
GI Joe can be a hell of of a movie if they do things right. Could be a perfect mix of action and science-fiction!
So let’s hope that Director Stephen Sommers will have the means to bring us this GI Joe 2 movie!

GI Joe Cobra Commander
At long last but not least, we may have a look to Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Cobra Commander / The Doctor in the upcoming live-action GI Joe movie:
Weapon Supplier
The arrogant, egotistical founder of MARS Industries is, like his ancestors, a brilliant designer of military weapons that he sells to the highest bidder. His greatest treasure is a metal mask that has been passed down through his family for generations
Scientist
Devious brilliant leader of Cobra demands complete allegiance from his followers as he works toward his ultimate goal of controlling the world. COBRA COMMANDER hides a deadly secret few others know, just as his mask covers disfiguring damage from a fiery accident.
I’m not sure about who’s the real boss in the movie: is it the Doctor or James McCullen? Maybe this GI Joe movie shows the rise of the Doctor before he becomes Cobra Commander?
:)
Rachel Nichols as Scarlett in GI Joe Movie
Take a look to this GI Joe character poster of Rachel Nichols as Scarlett:
I think it’s the best GI Joe poster of Cobra so far! And yep, I’m mesmerized by the pretty little face of Rachel Nichols. And not only by her face actually:
About the original Scarlett character:
She learned her martial arts skills from her father, who trained her and her three brothers as he was an instructor. She has several black belts in various forms of martial arts. She has long red hair, which she tends to put up into a pony tail. In some of her appearances, it is shown she may speak with a southern drawl or localized Georgian accent. She also graduated summa cum laude from a prestigious university, and passed her Bar Exams to practice law before moving into the military.
Her quote is “Beauty may only be skin deep, but lethal is to the bone”
If you’re looking for a reason to go watch the movie GI Joe, then go for Actress Rachel Nichols!

New Trailer of GI Joe Rise of Cobra
You may watch below the latest trailer of GI joe Rise of Cobra, the upcoming sci-fi action movie based on the universe of Hasbro’s action figures of the same name:
GI JOE RISE OF COBRA
Fortunately they release some good trailer again: I was starting to feel that the bad buzz was deserved (poor suits, ugly posters…) but I must admit that this new GI JOE movie trailer looks awesome. And I appreciate that they try to put some humor in the movie.
;-P
Duke GI Joe Movie
A brand new GI Joe character poster features Channing Tatum as Duke has shown up online:
About Duke:
Much better poster than the bluish version they released earlier, but it still looks kind of cheap…
:-/
GI Joe Bluish Poster
The marketing team promoting GI-Joe is either lazy or running out of ideas… Here’s the ‘new’ bluish poster of GI Joe:

Hearing some negative buzz about the movie GI Joe, it may explain why the studios aren’t investing more to promote the movie if they think it’s going to be a flop…

GI Joe MTV Movie Awards Clip
Here below the full GI Joe clip shown during the MTV Movie Awards 2009:
The Eiffel tower is eaten by some goo and collapses: I guess the French would be quite pissed off to see their national symbol destroyed. But hey, even the Statue of Liberty was beheaded in Cloverfield, so can’t say that Hollywood plays by double standard.
And here the release date of GI Joe The Rise of Cobra: August 7, 2009.
;-P
GI Joe Rise of Cobra Clip
A clip of GI Joe The RIse of Cobra is going to be shown during the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday. Watch below a not-so tantalizing glimpse of what’s to come:
Those suits the GI Joe are wearing were looking badasss in the previous trailers of GI Joe, but I see them in action it does not feel right… It kind of looks like some 3D stuffs from 10 years ago…
Well, I’ll still go watch GI Joe, but those suits are going to be a real eyesore…
:)

GI Joe Superbowl Teaser
The official Superbowl teaser trailer of GI Joe The Rise of Cobra has shown up online:
There is no denying that this Superbowl GI Joe movie trailer is remarkably well cut! I hope it is not a false promise… But if half of the GI Joe movie is as explosive as this preview then it is going to more than awesome!
:)
GI Joe Sneak Preview Clip
A sneak preview clip of the Superbowl trailer of the GI Joe movie has shown up on Entertainment Tonight:
Update: You can now watch –> the full Superbowl GI Joe teaser
GI Joe Rise of Cobra Superbowl Trailer
There must have been a lot of rework since the latest screening description, because the 10 seconds of this GI Joe trailer are explosively appealing!
I shall thank God twice (maybe more) this Sunday! And God bless the Superbowl!
:)
GI Joe Rise of Cobra File Cards
There should be a Superbowl GI Joe trailer this Sunday so if you are not familiar with the characters of the GI Joe universe it’s still time to take a look to the files cards below:

Too bad we still don’t have a picture of Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Cobra Commander. Maybe a glimpse of him in the upcoming GI Joe trailer, hope so!
:)
Storm Shadow GI Joe Movie
A GI Joe character poster featuring Lee Byung-Hun as Storm Shadow has been unveiled:
I spotted on Google Image (here) two pictures with a better look at Storm Shadow:
This Storm Shadow just looks like John Preston (played by Christian Bale) in the sci-fi movie Equilibrium: his outfit is all white! It would have been better if they had kept the red cobra on the outfit:
GI Joe Rise Of Cobra Movie
Five new posters of GI Joe Rise of Cobra have been unveiled:
Those GI Joe posters aren’t boring, but well maybe it’s time to show Destro and Cobra Commander! Hope to see those two in the upcoming Superbowl GI Joe trailer!

Gi Joe Movie Trailer for Superbowl 2009
In early December Jason from Nuke The Fridge wen to a test screening of the movie trailer of GI Joe Rise of Cobra. Here his description of the GI Joe trailer he saw:
Update: the superbowl trailer of GI Joe Rise of Cobra is now available:
The trailer begins with some jets zooming by and dropping some bombs. Then we see Dennis Quaid as Hawk talking to members of a new elite fighting force he says has been put together to fight terrorism.
We see a couple of terrorist attacks, some G.I. Joe guys dressed like Snake Eyes jumping out of a plane and the Eiffel tower being topped by what looks like some green ooze.
Next we see some quick shots of a number of characters like Scarlett, Channing Tatum’s Duke on a motorcycle, Sienna Miller as the Baroness sliding down a staircase railing, and a quick shot of Snake Eyes and Stormshadow fighting. About the Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow fight…it looks about as bad as a fight from the “Double Dragon” movie from the early 90’s.
Finally we get another quick editing job of some action sequences that go by really too quick to make anything out, and then finally there is this really lame sequence featuring some horrible CG work, as a couple of rockets are launched at some Joes dressed again to look like Snake Eyes. They do this dive / twirl through mid air where they some how avoid the rockets as they swirl by.
The “G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra” title appears on screen followed by “Summer 2009.” In all the trailer was about a minute long. I was told they are testing the trailer for debut as a possible Super Bowl commercial.
There was no footage of Destro, Zartan, or Cobra Commander. More than likely because they look so bad, based on the above described footage. From the trailer, it looks like this is going to be a horrible movie. Way too cheesy for my taste anyways.
So I suspect that the Super Bowl is when we will be seeing this first teaser trailer. […]
NB: the pictures have been added by Teaser Trailer and are not screen caps of the official trailer of GI Joe Rise of Cobra
The movie being scheduled for August 2009 then a trailer during the 2009 Super Bowl in February would be a good timing I agree. I’m impatient to see this GI Joe movie trailer myself: the description above isn’t appealing, but I have hope that the production team is taking into account the results of the test screenings and that the final version of the Superbowl trailer of GI Joe Rise of Cobra will be better.
:)
GI Joe Rise Of Cobra
The final title of the movie GI Joe will be GI Joe Rise of Cobra according to GI Joe posters spotted by film1 at the Cinema Expo in Amsterdam, Europe:

GI Joe Cast Pictures
GI Joe is the upcoming movie adaptation of the famous Hasbro figurine universe. The movie is directed by Stephen Sommers.
We already had pictures of Snake-Eyes and Scarlett O’Hara. But yesterday more pictures surfaced on the web.
Those promo pictures of GI Joe feature almost the whole GI Joe team:
Rachel Nichols as Scarlett OHara,
Channing Tatum as Duke,
Karolina Korkova as Cover Girl,
Marlon Wayans as Ripcord,
Byung-hun Lee as Storm Shadow,
Sienna Miller as The Baroness,
Ray Park as Snake Eyes,
and Dennis Quaid as Hawk.
Here below GI Joe Cast Pictures:

Official Pictures are available since at: GI Joe Official Pictures
The cast seems not too bad. But their battledresses do not look as real as what I may remember from the Hasbro action figurines or from the anime comic series.
:)
GI Joe Scarlett Picture
A GI Joe picture of Scarlett Ohara has been unveiled. But first who is Scarlett?
“She was the first female action figure in the G.I. Joe toy line and is also the only member of the original team to see much action in both cartoon and comic incarnations. The official line on Scarlett is that her full name is Shana M. O’Hara. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Although she is as adept with standard weapons as any of her comrades, her weapon of choice is the crossbow which fires various bolts with specialized functions.” (Source: Wikipedia)
An now this gorgeous GI Joe picture:
(Click on the picture to enlarge.)
The role of Scarlett O’Hara is interpreted by the beautiful Rachel Nichols. I would follow her orders without any objection!
;-p
GI Joe The real enemy is not Scottish
GI Joe is fighting a terrorist organization called Cobra.
Normaly the leader of this evil organization is a Scot. But well, I dream of a cinema industry less politically correct and more involved in what matters (like in the 1940’s during WWII).
I would prefer to see GI Joe fighting the ugly garbage bin:
If you want to shoot Bin Garbage let’s go on: GI Joe ennemy is not a Scot
Let’s hope someone will fry him soon…
:)
