There’s a new trailer for Splice, the upcoming sci-fi movie directed by by Vincenzo Natali:
SPLICE
Plot synopsis:
“Genetic engineers Clive Nicoli and Elsa Kast hope to achieve fame by successfully splicing together the DNA of different animals to create new hybrid animals for medical use.”
Warner Bros Pictures have released three new TV spots of Splice, the upcoming sci-fi movie starring Adrien brody:
I’m all for raising awareness about the risk associated to genetic engineering, but I hope this movie won’t give a pretext to those crazy religious fundamentalists (were they Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, Hindu or else) and those stupid Luddites to once again try to push for new laws forbidding life-saving research in genetics!
:/
At this very moment
in labs across the country
boundaries are being pushed
risks are being taken
and a line… is a bout to be crossed
Director Vincenzo Natali talks about his movie Splice:
“Splice is a serious film and an emotional one. And there’s sex… Very unconventional sex. The centerpiece of the movie is a creature which goes through a dramatic evolutionary process. The goal is to create something shocking but also very subtle and completely believable.”
Director Vincenzo Natali
Splice looks like a hell of movie, can’t wait to watch it!

The first official movie trailer of Splice, the upcoming sci-fi movie trailer produced by Guilermo del Toro and directed by Vincenzo Natali has been released by Warner Bros:
SPLICE
Plot:
“Clive (Adrien Brody) and Elsa (Sarah Polley) are young, brilliant and ambitious. The new animal species they engineered have made them rebel superstars of the scientific world. In secret, they introduce human DNA into the experiment. The result is something that is greater than the sum of its parts: a female animal-human hybrid that may be a step up on the evolutionary ladder.”
Get ready a creepy cute monster that’s deadly hungry!
The movie Splice is starring Adrien Brody, Sarah Polley, and Delphine Chaneac. It will be released on June 4, 2010.

A second clip of Splice, the upcoming science-fiction movie directed by Vincenzo Natali and starring Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley, has surfaced online:
This must be a scene happening earlier than the first Splice clip.
I wonder is that worm thing will become the creature focus of the movie Splice… Hard to believe that this ugly worm could come close to anything human! Or maybe that’s the DNA source they’re gonna splice with Human DNA in order to create the final creature?
:)

Whatever happens don’t trust that creature, don’t trust her angelic face! Her legs borrowed from Lucifer himself are a much better indication of her true nature! She’s a real devil waiting to prey upon poor humans!

Really? A romance with the creature? Clive (Adrien Brody) must be some borderline character then….

We got our hands on a series of pictures of Splice,, the upcoming sci-fi movie produced by Guillermo del Toro, directed by Vincenzo Natali and starring Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley:

Plot:
“Elsa and Clive are two young rebellious scientists who defy legal and ethical boundaries and forge ahead with a dangerous experiment: splicing together human and animal DNA to create a new organism. Named Dren, the creature rapidly develops from a deformed female infant into a beautiful but dangerous winged human-chimera, who forges a bond with both of her creators – only to have that bond turn deadly.”
I wonder what animal DNA is used to create that chimera… Because of the tail and the shape of her feet I’d say the DNA is coming from a reptile. Any guess?
:)
Director Vincenzo Natali is bringing us Splice, an upcoming science fiction movie that dwells on the danger of genetic engineering, especially on the danger of splicing Human and animal DNA (in order to create a chimera). The film is starring Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley. The movie Splice should be released early next year.
Here below a first preview clip of Splice:
SPLICE
Plot:
“Elsa and Clive (Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley), two young rebellious scientists, defy legal and ethical boundaries and forge ahead with a dangerous experiment: splicing together human and animal DNA to create a new organism. Named Dren, the creature rapidly develops from a deformed female infant into a beautiful but dangerous winged human-chimera, who forges a bond with both of her creators – only to have that bond turn deadly.”
Hard to believe that this little monstrous thing could develop in anything beautiful later on. But I can totally imagine it becoming some dangerous predator. I am no Luddite, and I do want scientists to be allowed to pursue R&D in genetic engineering (from stem cells to splicing or whatever may help to increase our knowledge). But on can’t deny that there is need for regulation: don’t want dangerous chimera to feed on you or don’t want any new vicious GM virus to infect you, do you? It’s even more compelling to implement a strong regulation and to get ethical awareness in the population because tabletop genetic engineering is for tomorrow…
Anyway, I don’t think the movie Splice to go deep int hose issues. But at least it looks like it will be quite entertaining. Impatient to see what the grown-up creature will look like in the movie Splice!
