In the movie Whiteout, US Marshall Carrie (Kae Beckinsale) has to face a vicious criminal in the white coldness of Antarctica. Let’s watch those preview clips of Whiteout:
Antarctica: the most isolated landmass on the planet, no permanent population, no horizon, no shadows, there is only… white!
I think Hell isn’t hot… It must be cold, cold like Antarctica! Maybe a bit like what we see in this movie trailer of Whiteout, but much worse, colder! Brr… God, please forgive my sins, and don’t send me to hell!
Anyway I’ll take something warm with me when I’ll go watch the movie Whiteout. :)
The most isolated landmass on the planet, No official government, No permanent population…
Temperature: 120 Below zero Wind speed: 200 miles per hour
No horizon! No Shadows!
There is only White…
Plot: “A U.S. marshal (Kate Beckinsale), the only one assigned to Antarctica, must investigate a murder on the frozen continent within three days before the arctic winter begins. She crosses paths with a U.N. operative (Gabriel Macht), also investigating the murder.”
The movie Whiteout is an adaptation of the 1999 comic book of the same name by writer Greg Rucka and artist Steve Lieber. In the comic book the crime is just an excuse to show how harsh Antarctica can be: The frozen continent is all white, it’s no paradise, it’s like hell!
Judging from the movie trailer of Whiteout it seems that Dominic Sena’s take is faithful to to the source material and still manage. That’s probably why Greg Rucka himself applauds this film adaptation.
The movie Whiteout will be released on September 11, 2009. :)
Kate Beckinsale isn’t afraid to get cold for the sake of acting: she’s got the lead role in Whiteout, an upcoming thriller movie directed by Dominic Sena set in Antartica. Here a new picture of Witheout released by Warner Bros:

Comments Off on Whiteout Movie with Kate Beckinsale and Gabriel Macht
Whiteout is an upcoming movie adaptation of the 1999 comic book by writer Greg Rucka and artist Steve Lieber. The film is directed by Dominic Sena and is starring Kate Beckinsale and Gabriel Macht in the lead roles. The action thriller Whiteout is slated to be released on September 11, 2009.
Here below a first look at Kate Beckinsale and Gabriel Macht in the movie Whiteout:

The film is primarily set in a bright world of ice and sunlight, an unconventional approach to the murder mystery genre. Both real and fake snow were used in production.
Even if the plot is set in Antartica it does not make the film that much exceptional so far… I hope there will be some good acting to complete the landscape…
But for once the original author of the graphic novel, Greg Rucka, applauded the film adaptation of his source material (not like the bitter Allan Moore about the Watchmen movie). So there is reason to hope for Whiteout! :)
