Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter here’s a first official look at Solace, the upcoming mystery thriller movie directed by Afonso Poyart and starring Anthony Hopkins, Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Abbie Cornish, and Sharon Lawrence:

Plot:
“A crime analyst (Anthony Hopkins) with psychic abilities comes out of retirement to help a veteran FBI agent (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) solve a series of bizarre murders.
He is drawn into a serial killer case only to find that the killer (Colin Farrell) also is a psychic, leading to a showdown between the two who can detect each other’s every move.”

Sounds like a really interesting plot! Impatient to see how the whole thing will turn out!

I was particularly attracted to the opportunity to explore the cinematic potential of the script and to step into the mind’s eye of someone with psychic abilities, played by Anthony Hopkins, and visualize what he sees. The clip feels like a realistic take on Alien. Well, you can count in me in for the Last Days of Mars movie!

Judging from the trailer it does look like an interesting movie. But it kind of feel like a sanitized story… A grittier take on the story would have been welcome!
